BDPA Philadelphia chapter held program meeting on September 16, 2009 that was advertised as "Overcoming Networking Challenges and Leveraging Social Media". The focus of the discussion was the importance of networking; using the social media; overcoming networking challenges; and leveraging your network. The guest speaker was Janice Coleman. Janice Coleman is a business professional who has worked in the corporate world for over 20 years. Her experience includes over of 12 years in the Information Technology Industry. During that time, Janice provided applications development, project management, technical support and team leadership specifically for several large Insurance providers and Public Utilities in the Delaware Valley. Janice's educational and professional training includes Organizational Management from Eastern University and certificates in applications programming, communications, public speaking, Project Management and Six Sigma. She also holds BA in Christian Ministry. She is also a member of the Association of Career Professionals International. Ten years ago, Janice transitioned her career efforts into the Training and Education industry. She specializes in personnel management and career/personal development. Most recently, Janice has joined the ranks of career management consultants with Right Management Consultants, a worldwide outplacement and talent management firm. As a consultant with Right, Janice works with a wide range of professionals who in the midst of career transition. Janice assists these individuals in several ways that include industry research/evaluation, self-assessment, resume/interview preparation and more.TRANSCRIPT
