At E|DPC - Electric Drives Production Conference and Exhibition 2014, the

industry and science met from 30 September – 01 October in Nuremberg,

Germany. Leading national and international companies presented their

products and their innovations at the exhibition. The world's leading IEEE

conference in this field and the focused exhibition jointly offered a platform

for exchange of knowledge for the benefit of the industry and science in

order to discuss the production of electric drives and generators.

618 visitors and 38 exhibitors exchanged at E|DPC the latest developments

and trends in the production of electric drives and generators. 84 percent of

the visitors reached absolute or most of the objectives of their visit*. The

quality of the visitors remains at a very high level. 75 percent of the

exhibitors rated this one as very good and good*.

decision-makers in the industry and informs during the conference in

practical and user-oriented sessions about current topics from the various

fields of electric drives and generators production.

In 116 technical sessions and 12 poster presentations, experts from leading

companies as well as representatives from universities and research

institutions showed practice-relevant trends in the production of electric

drives and generators. The opening of the conference was presented by

Prof. Jörg Franke, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, the Chairman of the

E|DPC conference and the keynote speech were held by Lars Thomsen,

future matters AG, Jörg Grotendorst, CEO Siemens Inside e-Car Powertrain

Systems, Siemens AG and Prof. Jürgen Meins, TU Braunschweig.

The Green Factory Bavaria and the VDMA Forum Electromobility,

E-MOTIVE, offered more exciting presentations in parallel. Furthermore,

technical tours to companies and research institutions in the region were

offered on the first conference day.

1. Magnet Materials

2. Innovative Materials for Magnetic Sheet

Conference Topics

The Evening Reception as a Networking Event

At the end of the first conference day, conference delegates, speakers,

committee members and exhibitors met at the traditional „Evening

Reception“ in the old historical town hall in Nuremberg. At this occasion, new

trends were exchanged and interesting contacts were build. The guests

concluded the first day in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying a flying buffet and

taking part of subsequent tours through the vaulted cellar under the historical

town hall or through the old town of Nuremberg.
