The candlelight cerem ony was performed by Rev. Dr. Jam es A. Mitchell, rector of St. P au l’s assisted by Rev. Dr. Paul Eddy, a relative of the bridegroom and president of Adelphi College, Garden City, N. Y. The reception was held a t the Areola Country Club, Param us.

Mr. Borg was g raduated from Hill School, Pottstow n, Pa. He attended Colorado College and Columbia University. He served a t Valley Forge Army Hospital as an operating-room specialist.
He is a director of the Bergen Evening Record Corporation, and is fashion d irector of th e Record. His fa th e r is p resident and ch a irm an of the Board, and is editor and publisher of the Record. Science Discovery By Dr.Daniel David Palm er
Dr. Cecil L. M artin, Jersey City Chiropractor, called a tten tion today to Septem ber 18, as the date on w hich the 66th an n iversary of the discovery of ch iropractic will be observed.
Dr. M artin who is a m em ber of the Executive Board of Directors of the N ational C hiropractic Association, said the event would be observed as N ational C hiropractic Day.
He said the observance sponsored by the n a tio n ’s second largest profession of healing will also be celebrated th roughou t the world in honor of Dr. Daniel David Palm er, credited w ith the discovery of the practice of ch iropractic.
Dr. M artin said special a t te n tion already has been called to the event in the Congressional Record in which the general them e of the observance — pro m otion of good h ea lth — is extensively discussed.
He said the specific function by which the ch iropractor is distinguished from other modes of healing is his ad ju stm en t of vertebral subluxation of the spinal column to restore norm al nerve function.

B erndt, who quit the fire dep a rtm en t last Thursday — the day a fte r a $300 ann u a l pay raise was announced by the com m ission — had actually subm itted his resignation weeks ago.

Mr. John T. Beil, who teaches S p a n i s h in the elementary schools of Waldwick, has returned to Waldwick after completing successfully a summer program of the Foreign Language Institute conducted at Iona College i n Westchester County. This Institute was sponsored by the National Defense Education Act in collaboration with the United States Office of Education.
The program consisted of 230 hours of Spanish including Culture. Linguistics, Speaking, Writing, Movies, Lectures, and 50 hours of observation of teaching and methods of teaching Spanish with emphasis on thet elementary grades, with college credit for 9 semester hours of academic credit.
