Borg, Editor And Publisher of the Record Of Hackensack Miss Sandra Jean Agemian and Malcolm Austin Borg were married on Saturday in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Englewood at an 8 p. m. candlelight ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Alexander Agemian of 11 Berkeley dr., Ten- afly. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gowen Borg of 695 Summit av., Hack- ensack. The candlelight ceremony was performed by Rev. Dr. James A. Mitchell, rector of St. Paul’s as- sisted by Rev. Dr. Paul Eddy, a relative of the bridegroom and president of Adelphi College, Garden City, N. Y. The reception was held at the Areola Country Club, Paramus. Miss Mary Louise Agemian at- tended her sister as maid of honor. Best man was Gregory Gowen Borg, brother of the bridegroom. Mrs. Borg was graduated from the Dwight School for Girls, Englewood, and Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. Martin, Jersey City Chiropractor, called attention today to September 18, as the date on which the 66th anni- versary of the discovery of chiro- practic will be observed. Dr. Martin who is a member of the Executive Board of Directors of the National Chiropractic As- sociation, said the event would be observed as National Chiro- practic Day. He said the observance spon- sored by the nation’s second largest profession of healing will also be celebrated throughout the world in honor of Dr. Daniel David Palmer, credited with the discovery of the practice of chi- ropractic. Dr. Martin said special atten- tion already has been called to the event in the Congressional Record in which the general theme of the observance — pro- motion of good health — is ex- tensively discussed. He said the specific function by which the chiropractor is distinguished from other modes of healing is his adjustment of vertebral subluxation of the spinal column to restore normal nerve function. Osmers or Tenafly Former North Bergen Fireman Caught Using Firehouse For Making Bows and Arrows Former North Bergen Fireman Alfred Berndt was stopped from making bows and arrows in the firehouse as a commercial ven- ture, it was learned the other day. Berndt, who quit the fire de- partment last Thursday — the day after a $300 annual pay raise was announced by the commis- sion — had actually submitted his resignation weeks ago. Public Safety Director James P. Nolan and Fire Chief Warren Andes put an end to the business venture in the firehouse. Both had been under the impression Berndt was maknig the bows and arrows as a hobby. Nolan confirmed report of the incident but refused to comment on Berndt’s departing criticism. Trumans Dine At Famous Steak Pit In Paramus The Woman’s Club of Wald- wick met Monday evening of this week at the Methodist Church Hall, Franklin Turnpike near Wyckoff Avenue, Waldwick. Waldwick school psychologist, John Ayres, delivered a mesterly speech touching on all phases and aspects of juvenile problems and the responsibilities of the parents. His speech was listened to with rapt attention. It was boh educational and insructive. Members of he executive board were the hostesses for the oc- casion. Members of the American Home Department will meet next Tuesday night, September 19 at the residence of Mrs. William O’Neill, 222 Hamilton Avenue, Glen Rock, to stuff envelopes for ! the Visiting Nurse Service. The art department meets on September 26 at the residence of Mrs. J. Gailacher, 55 Highwood Avenue, Waldwick. Members will view slides from the Wertheim collection. Mrs. William Nichol is the president of the Woman’s Club ! of Waldwick. Ex-President Harry S. Truman and wife, Bess, are welcomed to j the Steak Pit in Paramus, New Jersey, by part-owner Sidney ! Mr. John T. Beil, who teaches S p a n i s h in the elementary schools of Waldwick, has re­turned to Waldwick after com­pleting successfully a summer program of the Foreign Lan­guage Institute conducted at Iona College i n Westchester County. This Institute was spon­sored by the National Defense Education Act in collaboration with the United States Office of Education.

The program consisted of 230 hours of Spanish including Cul­ture. Linguistics, Speaking, Writ­ing, Movies, Lectures, and 50 hours of observation of teaching and methods of teaching Spanish with emphasis on thet element­ary grades, with college credit for 9 semester hours of academic credit.

Scott is a 1959 graduate of St. Luke’s High School and has fin­ished two years at Pembroke State College, North Carolina where he was on the dean’s list.
