The SX Surface Xtender gives a greater feeling of comfort and stability to patients.

The panels adjust between five locked positions at approximately 15° intervals, plus an unlocked, lowered position. The Three-Stage IV Pole is designed to hold IV solution bags and infusion pumps. Its three-stage, adjustable-height design allows you to place IV solutions at the appropriate level for each patient.

The IV Pole mounts directly onto the frame of the POWER X1 Ambulance Cot, POWER-X (UK), iNX Integrated Patient Transport & Loading System, or Mondial Monobloc. It is easy to attach and detach, and can be moved to either side of the cot.

Castor Directional Locks can be fitted to the two load-end wheels of the iN∫X. When engaged, the Castor Directional Locks lock the wheels in a fixed position to aid the moneuvring of the iN∫X.

When not engaged, the iN∫X has four swivel wheels for confined space manoeuvring.

The Castor Directional Locks are sold in pairs and can be retro-fitted.

The Side Lift Handles and Load Frame Handles are designed to be attached to the sides or the load-end frame of the stretcher. The handles assist operators to manoeuvre the stretcher.

The iN∫LINE Fastening System secures the iN∫X transport system inside a ground-based ambulance and when installed and maintained correctly, meets or exceeds worldwide specifications and Standards.

The iN∫LINE Fastening System is available in three lengths — Short, Medium and Long — to suit vehicles of various sizes.

Mounting Rails act as the intermediatary between the iN∫LINE and the vehicle and facilitate easy installation of the iN∫LINE to the vehicle. Four options of Mounting Rails are available depending on the installation method:

1. Bare Floor Mounting Rail mounts directly to a vehicle floor or ambulance plinth

2. NMI / Unwin Extrusion mounts to an aircraft-style extrusion fitted to the vehicle floor

3. iN∫LINE Centre Rail / Stryker Extrusion mounts to the floor-mounted Ferno Inline Centre Rail Extrusion or to the extrusion used for the Stryker Power Loader

The Universal Patient Restraint Set are used to protect the patient or others from physical harm and to enable treatment and care of the patient.

The Restraint Set is designed to fit a variety of hospital beds and ambulance stretchers. It comprises two single straps for wrist and ankle. Both straps have two padded, double overlap securing system that adjust to the patients size.

The wrist strap also assists in securing the patients waist area. Each strap has quick-connect, double-action, industrial-rated buckles that can be concealed to prevent patients from releasing them.

When the Ferno Res-Q-Mate Stretcher needs to be carried for any lengthy period the Handle Kit offers greater carrying options for the rescuer by providing more comfortable and lift friendly positions.

The Handle Kit conveniently locks in position at either end of the stretcher. Ideally the Res-Q-Mate Handle Kit should be used with the Ferno Stretcher Handle Shoulder Harness so that the combined weight of the patient and stretcher can be transferred from the arms and evenly shared through the shoulders, chest and back.

The Shoulder Harness is useful for longer hauls.

RESCUERESCUE BOAT SEA SCOOPA

Designed for the rescue and retrieval of a man overboard (MOB) in a horizontal or vertical position, Sea Scoopa enables two crew members to complete the rescue operation without entering the water.

Favoured by coast guard and water rescue agencies, the Sea Scoopa includes an integral stretcher that clips on to the rescuers’ safety harness, allowing the MOB or patient to be stretchered immediately after water retrieval. This eliminates unnecessary handling of the patient.

The Sea Scoopa deploys in under two minutes. The bright, reflective net has a rigid outer batten with floats and handgrips to aid lifting. The crew members hold this batten away from the vessel with two poles attached to its fore and aft ends to form a scoop shape.

Capture the patient while the boat is in motion and has steerage. Sea Scoopa’s unique patented scoop net prevents the patient from being swept out the aft end during capture.

Once scooped and netted, the patient is brought on board using a rolling and lifting motion (called parbuckling) by two crew members—first using the handgrips on the outer floating batten, then the six handgrip sets incorporated in the body of the net.

Sea Scoopa’s design and 2:1 mechanical advantage of the rolling lift reduces the lift load by 50%, improves the operators’ lifting techniques, reduces their risk of back injury and is better for the patient by reducing the risk of circulatory collapse during the rescue process.

The patient is received into Sea Scoopa’s integrated, lightweight stretcher once he or she is raised over the gunwale. The outer pole of the stretcher is supported during this process by clipping onto the rescuers’ life jacket D-ring.

The inner side of the stretcher is then detached from Sea Scoopa’s net by releasing two snap shackles and the patient is either lowered to the deck or transferred elsewhere after being restrained to the stretcher.

RESCUEFerno Arachnipod is the world’s most versatile modular Total Edge Management System (TEMS) and is a valuable tool for enabling access to difficult-to-reach locations. The modular design of the Arachnipod provides those with limited budgets with an option to purchase a basic unit and upgrade components to make a more advanced system. The Arachnipod system is equally effective through the full range of scenarios, from essential industrial applications to technical rescues.

The Arachnipod System consists of three types of legs, a variety of foot options and rigging components, plus a number of accessories which enhance the use of the assembled device. The unique design of the modular leg head means the Arachnipod can be constructed into many different configurations to suit different scenarios ranging from straight forward to extremely technical.

For example, to create a simple tripod any combination of three leg types are joined together at their head-ends with locking pins. To make a quad-pod, four legs are similarly joined together.

MIX AND MATCH VERSATILITYThe modular head of each leg type incorporates a hinge design that is similar to a door hinge. Inserting or removing a pin through these head hinges allows legs and other components to be quickly and easily assembled to create configurations to suit any basic or technical edge management requirement. The legs pivot independently from the anodised aluminium head which is an advantage on uneven ground. The configurations that can be constructed include:

The Ferno Tradesman is a comfortable, form fitting and multipurpose, fall arrest harness.

Supplied standard with all stainless steel componentry it is ideal for corrosive environments. Other standard features include waist strap, confined space attachment points, side ‘D’s and rear dorsal ‘D’ attachment points with dorsal extension.

Edge Double Buckle

The Edge Rappel Harness is ideal for top-roping, lead climbing and abseiling providing a great option where greater comfort is desired.

A floating waistband with gear attachment points provides freedom of movement and padded waist and leg straps provide comfort when suspended.

The Edge Rappel DOD Harness was made for the Defence Force tactical response group. It features all stainless steel hardware including Cobra quick connect buckle on the waist strap and double bar buckles on the leg straps.

The Ferno Rescue Personal Lanyard allows a rescuer to quickly connect to a victim and then adjust the strap to the desired length. It works well for positioning the victim for a lowering or rappel-based pick off or for an assisted rappel.

There is an added loop to the end for a more positive grip when pulling to adjust. Depending on how the buckle is loaded, it will begin to slip between 15 kN to 20kN. Tying off the buckle will increase strength.
