16th November 2015 Hi Graham, Thank you for your help, patience and professionalism. I would also like to take this opportunity to commend Colin who came and fitted the MiTouch Screens and relocated other boards around the school. He was very obliging. A bit of positive feedback is always important and I wanted to give the credit where it was due to all involved. Yours in appreciation, Shane O Connor, Ballyglass National School, Co. Galway

Note from Paul Fairbrother, Ranalagh Multi Denominational School 14-7-2014

I would like to compliment you on the service you provide. Colin was lovely to work

with and did a great job, although I called him Colm the entire afternoon. You have

always been very easy to deal with in emails and on the phone, always helpful and

never too pushy. I really appreciate the speed and efficiency of your work. Well

done and thank you.

RE: Media Scene Technology and IQ boards

To Whom It May Concern:

I wish to confirm that Media Scene Technology have recently installed ten IQ boards in our school and

have also installed two Smart boards earlier this academic year.

I cannot recommend Graham and his colleagues highly enough. They are extremely competitive in their

pricing and their service is second to none.

As a staff we have had little or no experience of Interactive Whiteboards but we are delighted with our

investment in IQ boards. They are very user-friendly and even those who would be reticent in their

computer use as a general rule, have taken the addition of IWB’s (most particularly IQ boards) to their

classrooms on board very willingly.

If you have any further queries regarding either Media Scene Technology or IQ boards, please do not

hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

To whom it concerns, I have been IT coordinator in Scoil Áine GNS Raheny for the past ten years. We have been working with Media Scene Technology since 2003 and cannot praise the company highly enough! From our point of view the technical support, whether on site or via email/telephone, has been second to none. Without fail, any appointment made with Media Scene has been promptly and efficiently kept and attention has been paid to the fact that we are a school and not a commercial business. When the time came for us to invest in interactive whiteboards, I was talked through the pros and cons of all options on the market. We decided on Teamboards and have had absolutely no regrets. Their installation was hassle free, financially they appealed to us and the ability to write on them as a regular whiteboard was an added bonus. Media Scene’s approach to all matters technical has been one of straightforward simplicity – elicit the problem and get the job done! No “bamboozling tech talk”! I would highly recommend them to any school looking for friendly, efficient and reliable IT service. Janet Keane November 2009

"We've recently had 17 Interactive Whiteboards installed by Media Scene Technology in our school. The work was carried out on time, without upset and to a high standard. The whole process from the initial site visit to the installation and follow up inspection was very professionally done." Kieran Walsh, St.Patrick's National School, Diswellstown, Dublin 15. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

RE: MEDIA SCENE TECHNOLOGY

It gives me pleasure to endorse Media Scene Technology and especially Graham Dungan as one of the

best ICT providers I have ever used. Over the last two years Graham has installed five Hitachi White

Boards in this school. He is meticulous in all that he does and instantly available for any follow up support

we might need. I would now not consider using any other company. Graham is extremely knowledgeable

in his field and he is a man of utmost integrity. I wish him and his company continued success.

Review: MiTouch Interactive Monitor 3

by Simon Lewis • Interactive Whiteboards, Reviews • Tags: Ireland, iwb, IWBs, mediascene, projectors,

time

Regular readers of Anseo.net may have noticed that there haven’t been many articles about Interactive

Whiteboards (IWBs) for some time. When Anseo.net started writing about IWBs, school were just starting

to buy into these devices and at their peak there were almost 40 different companies selling nearly 30

different models of boards. However, with an estimated 90% of classrooms in Ireland now fitted with

IWBs, there hasn’t been a new board on the market in ages.

Enter MiTouch, a new type of Interactive Whiteboard that doesn’t need a projector.

MiTouch isn’t a new concept. Essentially, it’s a very large monitor that can be interacted with through

touch. While these devices have been around for a couple of years, this is the first time they have reached

a price that is affordable in schools.

I had the pleasure of trying out the MiTouch in June and was very impressed by how simple it was to set

up and use. It is as easy as plugging your computer into the right sockets, calibrating once and you have a

fully-featured IWB that’s almost instantly on. There’s no worries about waiting for projectors to warm up

(or cool down.) In fact, there’s no need to worry about projectors at all, which for those of you who are

now at the stage of replacing bulbs, will be able to testify is a rather nice selling point.

The MiTouch works best with Windows 7′s multitouch features like most modern boards. I

didn’t try to write on the screen but I can’t see any reason why one couldn’t as it’s made of glass. One of

my teachers reported that because it’s essentially a very big screen TV, there might be a concern of eye

strain. However, I don’t think there is much difference between this screen and a projected image but I’m

open to correction. The newer versions of MiTouch use LED technology rather than LCD, which also might

help.

The bigger picture here is that if prices become the same or comparable to current IWBs, will the MiTouch

or its derivatives replace them in classrooms? Is this the new model for an IWB - a large touch-based

monitor? It’s very early days as yet but with projectors starting to cause all sorts of problems with bulbs

needing replacing, the interactive monitor (IM anyone?) could become the new IWB.

Mediascene are selling the MiTouch in Ireland €3,995 including VAT. Thanks to Graham for the lend of the

MiTouch.

Independent Articles find the IQBoard most

reliable and with superior software

Article from www.anseo.net after Simon Lewis Interactive Whiteboard Course in July 2010. Simon found that out of 15 Interactive Whiteboards the IQBoard was one of only 5 that was completely reliable. The teachers found the IQBoard software was the ONLY Touch sensitive and dry wipe Interactive

Whiteboard with good software. In fact it was one of only 3 out of 15 they felt had satisfactory software. Read the full article at the link below. http://www.anseo.net/iwb-course-2-teachers-views-on-iwbs/

Interactive Whiteboard Review August 2010 So without further ado, here’s the top 26!

2. (2) Other Brand costing (€2,900)

3. (4) IQ Board PS (from €2,195, Mediascene) Mediascene are a company who have been selling IT equipment for over 25 years. They have made links with several companies and resell lots of different boards. Their own focus is on the IQ Board, which ticks all the boxes.

NB: The excellent IQBoard is rated 3rd out of 26 and look at the price difference!!!!

Why choose other lower ranked options that may even be at a higher price?

Review IQBoard Posted by Simon on 21 January 2010 of www.anseo.net

Tags: IQboard I haven’t reviewed an interactive whiteboard for some time now and after visiting the BETT show in London last week, I found some new boards to play with including this one, the IQBoard. Sourced by a company called Mediascene who are working in partnership with Sight and Sound, (who sell the excellent Teamboard), I had high hopes for this board. It promised my three criteria - one you can use a magic pen with it, two you can use your finger or any other pointy device on it and three you can use a dry wipe marker on it. From playing around with it, it is an excellent board. It’s sturdy, accurate and has everything I could ever want with an IWB. I don’t find this minor issue a big problem but only one user can interact with the board at a time so I wasn’t bothered by this admission from the salesperson. The most important factor was the price. You can get the board for around €2,900, which includes a full installation including a short-throw projector. This is a good price in my opinion. However, Mediascene are doing a promotion so if you buy two boards, you’ll get a €1,000 discount. This amounts to €2,400 each which is the best value

I’ve seen for a short-throw solution of this quality.

Essentially the IWB market is starting to go in the same direction with touch-based and dry-wipe solutions becoming the norm. The differences between them are minimal. You’ll have to check out prices, guarantees, servicing and all that other stuff now as that’s becoming as important. In the IQBoard’s case, standard guarantee is 3 years with a 5 year option available. The other thing that’s driving the IWB market right now is all-in-one classroom solutions. By this I mean companies are creating IWBs, slates, visualisers and other materials designed for interactivity. The IQBoard does have accompanying slates but I’m quite happy to use different brands with different IWBs. Mediascene have been around for many years selling computers in the early 90s and are now embarking in the IWB world with many partners. I don’t think they’re going to disappear anywhere so you’re looking at an established company. They have big ambitions to get the IQBoard to be the 3rd biggest selling IWB on the market within two years. IQBoard Tel: 01-2755800 or email [email protected] or website www.iqboard.ie
