Common Issues with Planning 10

- Some kids don’t want to be there - What is the value in the course?

- Taking away an elective

- Some teachers don’t want to teach it – filler course

- Teaching topics in Health curriculum organizers

- Most teachers don’t have training and resources to teach the course – no textbooks and lab time

- Many districts make this course available online through summer school – issues and concerns?

For next class (Oct. 17):

• Take a look at IRPs for business computer classes (BCA 11, DM 12, BIM 12).

• We will look at how to teach these courses as well as consider possible resources.

• I also suggest that you show me at least ONE of your resources for the project due October 24 so I know you are on the right track.
