December 1980 : McDonald's Corporation, USA gave GOLDEN ARCHES RESTAURANTS SDN BHD the license to
operate McDonald's restaurants in Malaysia.
First restaurant opened at Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur on 29 April 1982.
McDonald's Malaysia has more than 200 restaurants located nationwide and is currently expanding at about 20-25
restaurants annually.

In 2010, we’re shocked with the issues of halal status of
McDonald, due to abundant of non-halal products in the
market.
Alhamdulillah,on 20th August 2010 JAKIM had announced that all McDonald’s
products was guaranteed HALAL and follow all the requirement stated by
JAKIM.

On September 8, 2009McDonald's Malaysian LOST a lawsuit against
McCurry
Fast food chain McDonald's lost a lawsuit in Malaysia on Wednesday after an appeals court overruled a
decision that its trademark had been infringed by a local restaurant called McCurry.
