The adventure is only just beginning!

An adventure aimed at discovering places off the beaten track of unspoiled Kenya in an offroad truck equipped with 24 seats and capable of camping on spot. The expedition team is made of a driver, a chef, camp assistant and of course an Italian guide. We travel from east to west and north to south across beautiful Kenya in all its natural splendor and getting in contact with local tribes. There will be local cultural days, days dedicated to the environment and conservation. Plus some of the benefits of the trip is aimed at safeguarding animal species and the endangered ones and at the social projects in the visited areas. A unique experience dedicated to all young people of all nationalities with or without disabilities, one that will fill not only cultural but also emotional enrichment. Airport pick-up at Jomo Kenyatta Nairobi and transfer to Karen Camp.

Briefing with our staff, dinner and overnight stay

SECOND DAY “NAIROBI”

Breakfast followed by a visit to David Sheldrick elephant sanctuary

Visit the Giraffe Center

Lunch at Karen camp

Afternoon visit to the Kenya National Museum Dinner and overnight stay at camp

THIRD DAY “NAIROBI”

Breakfast followed by all day trip to Nairobi National Park with lunch in the savannah Dinner under the savannah stars

NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK

Nairobi National Park is one of the natural protected reserves of Kenya with an area of 117 km and overlooked by Nairobi's skyscrapers and in fact located about 10 km away from the centre of Nairobi and constitutes the only nature reserve in the world in the immediate surroundings of a large city.

Established in 1946 by British colonials, it hosts 80 animal species including leopards, lions, giraffes, zebras, rhinoceroses, antelopes and a rich bird fauna of about 400 species.

Comprised of typical African landscape such as plains, small forests, steep gorges and lush vegetation along Athi river. With the Acacias dotted around the open plains giving the park a spectacular look

FOURTH DAY “NAIROBI - SAGANA”

Departure towards the city of Sagana after breakfast.

Arriving around lunchtime, setting the camp and own tents.

An afternoon filled with a number of individual and collective activities.

Dinner followed by a walk under the stars with our guide.

All day sports activities: Kayaking, Zip-lining, Water Rafting, Waterfall challenge, and water slides

SIXTH DAY “SAGANA - NGARE NDARE FOREST”

Breakfast then leaving for the lush Ngare Ndare forest On the way visit to the animal orphanage (Cheetahs, ostriches, leopards, and antelopes) situated at the feet of Mt Kenya

Afternoon walk in the forest with our rangers Bathing in clear blue pools with beautiful waterfalls in the background Elephant encounter and birdwatching

Ngare Ndare forest is a lush indigenous forest at the bottom of majestic Mt Kenya. The blue pools shining with waterfalls and 200 years old trees in the background stretching along with peaks inhabited by a rich variety of animals and birds. The forest is a natural and vital corridor that links Lewa National Conservancy and Mt Kenya which has been used by elephants for centuries

SEVENTH DAY “NGARE NDARE FOREST - LEWA CONSERVANCY”

On the way visit the Duca D'Aosta and Baden Powell mausoleum in the city of Nyeri and the Mau Mau tribe caves

The military memorial of Nyeri-Kenya is the last demure of Amadeo of Savoia Duca d'Aosta, the hero of Amba Alagi, buried together with his 676 soldiers. Entering the Mausoleum enclosure built by the Italian government in the '50s you get the feeling of entering a small part of Italy. Apart from Duca d'Aosta you find buried his 676 companion soldiers. This imposing Memorial is unique not only in Kenya but also in the neighboring countries. In contrast, the British military cemetery in Nyeri  containing the tomb of the founder of the “ Boy Scouts†Baden Powell, is practically neglected.

Following a long climb to the plateau under a bright sun, the arrival at Baden Powell's home where he spent the last years of his life together with his wife Olave. It's the place where the famous words that inspired so many were written: "Try to leave this world a little better than you found it...". Finally, the small cemetery, a gravel path, a small wooden enclosure with the purple colors of world scouting, we find the simple tomb in a silence only interrupted by the sun and the rustling of leaves in the wind. So here I am, almost surprised to find myself next to the mortal remains of a man who loved life so much and taught us to go through it at head high and with a smile on our faces (even when we would feel like crying).

EIGHTH DAY “LEWA CONSERVANCY”

Breakfast followed by  all day individual and group activities

Meeting the anti-poaching unit, walk through the savannah with our rangers at the encounter of rhinoceros, tracking lions, riding through the savannah, naturalistic photography lessons, astronomy, and conservationism

LEWA CONSERVANCY

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, also called Lewa Downs, is a 62,000-acre ranch owned by the Craig family since 1924, which set aside 5000 acres of the ranch in 1983 to create a protected area for black rhinos. This project was so successful that in 1995 the Craig family dedicated the interior ranch to conservation and today the area is home to more than 10% of the entire population of black rhinos in Kenya and 14% of the population of white rhinos.

Ian Craig, the father of Jecca Craig, one of Prince William's best friends, still resides here today and the reserved atmosphere of the ranch gave the Prince the perfect setting to ask Kate Middleton for marriage in October 2010. Prince William is a passionate environmentalist and has visited this area on numerous occasions, so it seemed to him the most natural choice when he returned to choose the ideal place for engagement.

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, in addition to the Big Five, is also a refuge for many other animals. It supports a myriad of species all perfectly adapted to the semi-desert environment where Grevy's Zebra and reticulated giraffe are common. Furthermore, the Beisa oryx and the rare and powerful kudu are seasonal visitors and Gunther's Dik Dik, Gerenuk antelopes, and the beautiful blue-legged Somali ostrich which resides all year round.

The swamp has become a refuge for the rare and fascinating Sitatunga antelope and its predator, the leopard. The bird fauna is equally rich with numerous species such as bustards, lapwings, couriers, and predatory birds. At night, the leopards are often spotted together with galagos, foxes, caracal, and various mongooses, genets and civets. That's why Lewa offers a unique combination of hospitality, spectacular scenery and wealth of animals. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy has won several awards for community conservation and is a UNESCO site

TENTH DAY “LEWA CONSERVANCY - SAMBURU NATURAL RESERVE”

Breakfast followed by departure to Samburu

SAMBURU NATURAL RESERVE

The reserve takes its name from the nomadic shepherd people that live in this semi-arid area. Samburu is characterized by arid savannah, palms and immensely big forest of acacias along the Ewaso Ngiro river which springs in the Aberdares mountain and hosts a huge population of hippopotamus and crocodiles.

With an abundance of bird fauna that comprises over 350 colorful types of birds including kingfisher, marabou, goshawks, hornbills, kites, along with Somali ostriches, falcons, sandgrouse, vultures, eagles and so many more.

The Samburu National Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness made famous in the best-selling book and award-winning movie “Born Free”.

ELEVENTH DAY “SAMBURU NATURAL RESERVE”

MOUNT OLOLOKWE

Still heading north along the trans-African highway along suggestive rocky outcrops and crossing the sacred hill of the Samburu tribe, appears in all its majestic Mt Ololokwe, known by the locals as Old Donyo Sabache.

Mountain considered sacred by the Samburu tribe: on the mountain resides the divinity in which they believe and venerate with prayers and propitiatory sacrifices.

FOURTEENTH DAY “MOUNT OLOLOKWE”

Departure in off road 4x4 Land Rovers for the elephant recovery center of Reteti.

RETETI CENTRE

The sanctuary of Reteti is part of the Namunyak Wildlife Conservation Trust, located in the land of the Samburu people.

This sanctuary is also a real orphanage for the elephants and it was established by the Samburu warriors in 2016.

All of the people working there were or still are Samburu warriors.

MARALAL

Maralal is a border town, located at the gateway to the great wild territory of the north of the country, which represents the starting point for many adventures.

This small town is a thriving center for the Samburu people: city teems with camels, warriors, and traders.

Beyond the city, there are some of the most beautiful parts of the country: the vast arid plains give way to the spectacular Lorong hills, and to the other mountains of Matthew Range.

The area is crossed by some dried up rivers, whose beds are now normally traveled by caravans of camels of nomadic tribes.

LAKE NAIVASHA

Lake Naivasha presents itself at the most elevated point of the Kenyan Rift Valley at 1884m within a complex geological combination of volcanic rocks and sedimentary deposits from an ancient and larger Pleistocene era lake.

Apart from seasonal streams, the lake is fed by the constant rivers Malewa and Gilgil. There is no visible exit, but since the lake water is relatively fresh it is assumed to have an underground outflow.

The freshwater lake has its name deriving from the Masaai language ‘Nai’posha’ meaning ‘rough water’ due to the sudden storms which can arrive.   The lake has a surface area of 139 square kilometers and is surrounded by a swamp which covers 64 square kilometers. The lake as a depth of 6 meters with the deepest area found near Crescent island where it can reach 30 meters.

The lake is home to a vast fauna which includes over 400 species of birds and a considerable population of hippos. As for the fish community, this has been highly variable over time due to changes in climate, fishing and the introduction of invasive species.

MASAI MARA

The Masai Mara wildlife reserve is the large nature reserve located in the southwestern part of Kenya, in the plain of Serengeti.

Extending on a surface of 1500 square kilometers, composed prevalently of bushes and arboreal savannahs that extend over wide plains and hilly areas, interspersed with numerous rivers that flow into the great lake of Victoria. It borders the park of the Tanzania Serengeti, with which it forms a single ecosystem and is known for the exceptional concentration of fauna and for the famous migration of wildebeest and zebras that occurs during October and April.

The most famous icon of Masai Mara and probably the image of the lion, of which there are large herds; in the park, however, all the so-called big five are present.

The most famous river in the reserve and the mara, in flood in the period between April and May. The watercourse and destination of the migration of herbivores (zebras, wildebeest and antelopes) coming from the neighboring park of Serengeti, in harvest between July and October, when the grass on the banks has grown; the second, known as a great migration, comes from the south and covers over 1300000 wildebeest and 200,000 zebras
