Introduction and Background
Abantu Staffing Solutions is a 100% woman owned recruitment agency, offering an end to end solution in HR
Consulting, Executive Search, Recruitment, Training and Development of people.
Closely aligned partnerships forms part of our preferred Total Service Delivery Solution. “Abantu” Solutions, meaning “People” solutions, was started with a passion for developing and assisting people in securing a future for themselves and simultaneously providing staffing solutions to our valued clients. Our business is 100% women owned and officially opened its doors in January 2006. Partners in the business, Melanie and Tracy, share over 15 years of recruitment experience between themselves in the industry. Currently based in East London, and continuing with this branch as our Head Office, we will be opening a branch in Port Elizabeth early 2014. Abantu Solutions understands the time it takes to recruit the right person for the right job. We pride ourselves on being an approachable team with the right insight and experience in assisting business and people through this process. Abantu Solutions is a locally based, privately owned Recruitment Solutions provider. We concentrate on providing exceptional service and developing close interpersonal relationships with our clients in order to deliver service excellence and real solutions in the workplace.

The primary focus of Abantu Staffing Solutions for recruitment is to invest in “peoples” lives and let our name
become synonymous with best recruitment practices and service excellence in the market place.
More and more is our focus in the placement of equity candidates from entry level to Senior Management
appointments. The emphasis of Equity Employment is to ensure that previously disadvantaged South Africans are
given career opportunities not previously obtainable.
SELECTION PROCESS
We believe in understanding our client’s requirements, culture and business before taking on any new projects and
ensuring the placement of capable people, this involves assigning a Key Account Manager. The Key Account
Manager will ensure that she understands your company’s culture and recruitment needs. She will also be your one
point of contact for all search recruitment requirements.

Confidential reference checks, credit and qualification checks and, if required, criminal checks

Melanie and Tracy have been working in the recruitment industry since 1996.
The staff employed by them have extensive experience in recruitment and human resources, adding to the value
added service offered to the clients and candidates. On-going up to date training is provided to all staff and temps,
meeting not only national but international recruitment standards.
Attached references will provide testimony to the fact that both Tracy and Melanie have had an incredible success
rate in recruitment, placement and retention of candidates from entry level to senior management in various
industries, including Finance and Auditing, Technical and Engineering,
Medical and Pharmaceutical, Information Technology, Admin and Office Support,
Human Resources Management, Sales and Marketing etc.

Competence-Based Interviewing and Reference Checking
CBI is an interviewing technique through which interviewers use carefully designed questions to probe specific
skills, competencies and characteristics that are critical to success in the job. Specific questions about situations
that candidates have experienced help to more accurately predict how a candidate will behave in similar
situations in the future. All candidates are asked the same questions in order to equally evaluate them.

LexisNexis® is a leading global provider of content-enabled workflow solutions designed specifically for
professionals in the legal, risk management, corporate, government, law enforcement, accounting and academic
markets. LexisNexis originally pioneered online information with its Lexis® and Nexis® services. A member of
Reed Elsevier, LexisNexis serves customers in more than 100 countries with more than 15,000 employees
worldwide.
RefCheck Advanced, a registered trademark with CIPRO, is a leading and arguably one of the most essential
tools in human resource management and staff recruitment today, providing a pre-employment and background
screening solution.
Established in 2000 and acquired by LexisNexis Risk Management in 2003 the business combines its
considerable experience with expert systems and innovative methods to provide clients with comprehensive
background screening solution.
RefCheck Advanced enables recruitment agencies and employers to verify the personal details of a potential
employee or candidate prior to offering employment. By improving transparency and disclosure, informed
decisions can be made regarding one of the most important assets of an organization, its employees.
Afiswitch (Pty) Ltd provides a national automated electronic criminal record check against the South African
Police Service criminal fingerprint database.
Cutting-edge electronic fingerprint scanners are used to capture digital fingerprints. Afiswitch developed its own
user interface platform which communicates with the Police. There are over 6 000 single and multiple
fingerprint optical scanners deployed nationally which capture approximately 55 000 single fingerprints on a
daily basis for criminal record check purposes.
The scanning of paper-based fingerprints is a service undertaken by Afiswitch in addition to the automated
electronic service. Forms are processed by using international best practise FBI-approved flatbed
scanners. This service was implemented for clients that do not have the capability to use
electronic fingerprint scanners.Afiswitch provides unrivalled accuracy and speed over
traditional paper-based services or Name, Surname and Identification Number
criminal clearance enquiries.
The criminal record check service is undertaken throughout South Africa by
agents who undergo stringent vetting procedures to become
authorized Afiswitch Service Providers.

with an annual turnover of 5 million or less. On 6 December 2006, Cabinet passed in Parliament that EME’s with a
turnover of 5 million or less are deemed a BEE recognition of a Level 4 contributor – 100% compliant.

Billing
Abantu Solutions bills the client as per below.
This fee is based on the basic salary offered to the candidate.
The final invoice is generated when the candidate has signed the Letter of Offer, and monies are payable within 14
days of submission of invoice.
Please note: Should any client or subsidiary or associated company of a client engage or re-engage the referred
candidate within a period of one year from the date of introduction or termination, a full fee shall, in accordance with
the terms of this agreement, become due and payable.
