K-2 EASTER HAT PARADE AND GRANDPARENTS

ASSEMBLY

Wednesday 10 April at 12.00 pm under the Gunyah.

You are invited to share in this celebration and we would like the children to invite

grandparents, a senior relative or friend to attend.

REMINDER - ANAPHYLAXIS SUPPORT AND

PROCEDURES

All staff have been trained in the management of anaphylaxis reactions. This training has taken place to support and protect the health and safety of students at risk of anaphylaxis when they are at school or involved in school activities. We have a number of students who have been prescribed an epi–pen and the school also has its own epi-pens in our first aid kits. Key strategies to minimise the risk of allergic reactions in students are:

Students do not share food with each other

Wash your hands after eating or touching food

Know what your friends are allergic to

Don’t pressure your friends to eat what they are allergic to

If a friend or student becomes sick or unwell get teacher/adult help immediately

P & C MEETING The P & C will be holding their next meeting on Thursday 4 April 2019 at 7.30 p.m. in the school staffroom in the Administration block. All parents are welcome to attend.

14 April

Remembering our Ex-Servicemen & Women on ANZAC

Day in a special way.

For ANZAC Day this year, as happened last year, a small white cross and a poppy will be

placed on every ex-serviceman and woman’s grave in the Griffith Cemetery. Just over 1000

graves in total.

On the 11th April at 10.00am, a small service will be held at the Griffith Cemetery. All parents

and community members are invited to visit and place provided flowers on the graves

marked with little white crosses. Donations of flowers will also be gratefully accepted. This

has been a beautiful thing to see over the past 10 years. Not one of the marked graves went

without a flower placed there by the small but enthusiastic crowd.

STEWART HOUSE DONATION DRIVE

Win a family holiday valued at $4000.00 to a destination of your choice. Place a $2.00 coin in the envelope going home with the newsletter today and return to the school by no later than May 17th, to be eligible to enter. The draw will take place at Stewart House on May 31st. Your donation supports the 1800 children who attend Stewart House each year from schools across NSW and the ACT.
