Zone Cross Country Champions
Griffith East had another very successful Zone Cross Country Carnival, once again
bringing home the trophy for our school. All students represented our school with pride,
running their best, cheering on their team mates, and helping to pack up at the end of
the day. Many students placed near the top of their events with the following students
going on to represent our Zone at the Riverina Cross Country in Gundagai:
AUSSIE RULES GALA DAY For a third successive year, our Aussie Rules team has won our local section of the PSSA Knockout. Congratulations, boys on your teamwork, endeavor and sportsmanship – you all played in the right spirit and we are very proud. Many thanks to Matt Kenny for training with the boys before the day and his coaching efforts on the day. I know the team is pumped to continue their journey with you this year. This group’s success was built upon teamwork and effort for each other. As Year 4 students, many of this team are seasoned players and promote a fabulous team environment. Let’s hope there will be many games to come.

SEMESTER ONE REPORTS Semester One Reports will be sent home with your child (in a sealed envelope) on Monday 1 July 2019 . Parents can contact their child’s teacher at any time during the year to discuss or
make an appointment for an interview to discuss their child’s progress (and report). If
teachers would like to discuss any concerns they have about your child’s progress
they will contact you to make an interview time.
Our Boys will look forward to playing the Griffith Final of the Paul Kelly against St. Patrick’s Primary School under lights at 5:30pm on Wednesday 19 of June at the Exies’ Sportsground. It will be a terrific game to watch! Go, EAGLES!
RIVERINA AUSSIE RULES
TEAM
Congratulations to both Thomas Jamieson and Bede
Kenny for their selection in the Riverina Aussie Rules
team. The boys played in Penshurst, Sydney at the
NSW Carnival in May and had a wonderful experience,
mixing it with the very best under 12 Aussie Rules
players in NSW. The Riverina team finished a very
respectable 5th overall in what was a terrific carnival.
The boys can be seen playing their last match of the
carnival on the following link:

Watch from 1:59:00). They both do some great things
in this footage. Way to go, boys! We hope you loved
the experience.

ATTENDANCE - THE IMPORTANCE OF
ARRIVING ON TIME Arriving at school and class on time ensures that:
Students do not miss out on important learning activities scheduled early in the day.
Students learn the importance of punctuality and routine.
Students have time to greet their friends before class.
Classroom disruptions are reduced. Lateness is recorded as a partial absence and must be explained by parents when a child is signed in at the office when arriving at school. It is a legal requirement that children be signed in by an adult if they are late.
