Lessons Learned
• Schools are getting acclimated to the results
of the data collection
– What are the alerts telling them?
– Looking at the student body with the EWS lens
• Student intervention teams are necessary
– Some buildings have teams for RTI, MTSS, School
Improvement, PLC, etc.
– Need to find ways to integrate EWS data and
techniques
-
Lessons Learned
• Avoid having programs and initiatives in silos
– Carve out time to meet to address EWS initiatives
– Discuss actual students and plan specific interventions
• Provide ongoing guidance, consultation and
support
– Regular user group meetings
– Foster communication between districts, building
leadership, and important counseling resources
-
