Department of Biotechnology has visited

Corrosion Science Technology Laboratory

(CGTG) in Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic

Research, Kalpakkam during 1st – 3rd June

2016. She has discussed and gained

knowledge about applications of Polymer

Composites in cooling water system and anti

corrosive agents.

Dr. C. Ramesh Babu, Asso. Prof,

Department of Civil Engineering has

delivered the lecture on “Analysis of Two

Hinged and Three Hinged arches” in the

Anna University approved Faculty

Development Training Programme on

Structural Analysis I during 1st – 7th June

2016 at Sethu Institute of Technology,

Virudhunagar.

Dr. D. Devaraj, Dean (Academic) was invited

as a chief guest in the Faculty Development

programme on “Computation, Optimization

and Modeling of Sustainable Energy Systems”

on 20th June 2016 at Bharathidasan Institute of

Technology Campus, Trichy.

Dr. S. Arumugam, Director

(n-CARDMATH) and Dean (R & D) has

delivered lectures on “Leech Trees” and

“Preparation of Project Proposals” during his

visit dated from 9th – 15th June 2016 at

Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur,

Mysore University and Vidyavardhaka

College of Engineering, Mysore.

Dr. M. Udhayakumar, Sr. Prof, Department

of Automobile Engineering has acted as a

visiting professor at Cracow University of

Technology, Poland during 20th May – 5th

June 2016. During his visit, he presented a

paper entitled “Advanced Machining”

Kalasalingam University signed MoU with

Ghent University, Belgium

An MoU was signed between Kalasalingam

University and Ghent University, Belgium for

the purpose of further enhancing cooperation

through both Educational and Academic

exchanges. Dr. Anne De Paepe, Professor,

Department of Pediatrics & medical genetics

and Dr. Rik Van de Walle, Dean,

Engineering & Architecture of Ghent

University together with Dr. S. Shasi Anand,

Processing” during 6th – 13th June 2016. The

resource persons for this programme were

The National Cyber Defence Research Centre

(NCDRC) Cyber Forensics Lab has

organized a Technical Discussion on “Cyber

Threat Research and Analysis”. The resource

person for this programme was Mr. M.

Sathees Kumar, National Engineering

College, Kovilpatti on 15th June 2016.

The Department of CSE has organized

Faculty Development Programme on

“Programming in C” on 27th June – 2nd July

2016. The resource persons for this

programme were internal faculty members

of CSE Department. This FDP focused on

basic concepts in C Programming.

The Department of EEE has organized Faculty

development Programme on “Basic Electrical

and Electronics Engineering” on 27th June – 1st

July 2016. The resource persons for this

programme were Dr. P. Aruna Jeyanthy, Mr. K.

Karupasamypandian, Dr. A. Ramkumar, Mrs.

V. Agnes Idhaya Selvi, Dr. S. Saravanan, Mr.

K. Muniyasamy, Mr. S. Ponnayira sundaravel,

Department of EEE. This FDP focused on

electricity fundamentals and DC and AC

Networks.

Workshops/Faculty Development Programmes

The Department of Chemistry and IRC

organized workshop on “Flash

Chromatography for Innovations in Materials”

on 23rd June 2016. The resource persons for

this programme were Prof. S. Natarajan,

Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and Dr.

P. Samuel, Department of Physics, KLU. The

main objective for this programme was to

provide the recent development and

application in the field of material research.

focused on Basic Information concepts, tools

required for BIM and creation of building

information modeling solutions.

Data analytics tools namely HADOOP, Azure

in the TEQIP – II sponsored two days

workshop on “Wireless Sensor Networks” at

PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore

during 24th – 25th June 2016. This workshop

focused on Design, Configuration and

Simulation of network using NetSim software.
