diamond– Limitations of 32-bit code on Solaris– Short term fix: offloading users– Long term fix: recompiling software

Web Permissions Problem Patched email servers on 2/3 “Fixed” a problem interpreting
umask (default permissions for new files)
Changed default permissions on files uploaded with SFTP/SCP to be inaccessible via web
Fixed as of 3pm 2/12
AutoFiling
Converting from IMAP namespace to symlink for all users to work around client problems
Found solution to client hangs during autofiled server outages
Autofiling will resume in about a week
UMCal Archiving
Started archiving old (> 18 mo.) calendar entries as of 2/1
EXCEPT: Crookston users scheduled for 3/1
Anecdotal evidence: performance is better now
Self-serve password reset Rolling out to a couple thousand
students per day User is asked during login to set
up secrets to enable future password resets
Still tweaking interface as we go
