Foundations of Investing and FInance 8 - Mrs. Newhouse - continue to submit you math and writing assignments (upload or take a picture and send to my email), see Google Classroom for a reminder assignment for Code.org -- instructions are included for login, Slides presentation is also in Google Classroom - submit from classroom, and complete the 3 tutorials for EVERFI. Anything you submit will be counted towards your overall grade for the semester, this can help with your A, A/B honor roll!!! Intro to Business & Technology - Mrs. Newhouse - check Google Classroom for the class survey (I would like your input about the High School Course), finalize your Virtual Business tutorials -- this should be completed first, then Google classroom - math and writing assignments can be submitted from Google, also the Google Slides presentation. Finally, EVERFI tutorials - 3 courses. You can also work on your code.org Course 3 if you have finished all the work. Remember this is a high school course and the grade will go with you and count towards your overall GPA -- work completed that is above your current average will only raise your grade and help you with A/A-B honor roll. Read 180 - Mrs. Gajeske Neptune’s Honor or Among the Hidden on YouTube counts as your independent reading if you wish. Email paragraph summary to me as a GoogleDoc that includes plot, character, setting, and theme. Don’t forget to take SRC quizzes.

W3.26 (Real Book pg. 176 and 20 minutes on software) Read the passage about becoming a publicist by Charisse Meloto.

PROJECT - Write a Press Release - Analyze the Purpose and Format - Section 2

1. Include name and website for the publicist

2. The title should grab the reader;s attention and give a brief idea of what

readers can expect from the plot of the book.

3. The summary should be brief and include details without giving away the

ending. As you read, underline the sentence that describes the main event

in the book and draw a box around one interesting detail that makes you

want to read the book.

4. The book information gives you basic information about the book. It

should include title, author, publication date, publisher, formats, and

pages.

1. Practice Logs- Log in at least 20 minutes a day, 4 days a week onto you practice logs. Turn them into Google Classroom by Friday @12PM.

Flutter Kicks-(Lying on your back put your and lift your legs about 6 inches off the ground keeping your legs straight and move them up and down.)

PE - Coach Lathem Art - Ms. Nichols Yay! Yay! It is the month of May! I want you to continue these simple but FUN creative exercises that will keep your imagination active and boost your visual art skills during this quarantine period. This week you will learn a little bit about Op Art. Op means optical illusion. You will create a Worm Tunnel by simply drawing curved lines. Check out what I just created:

Then I shaded it with a green colored pencil, a blue-green crayon, an orange and a red-orange crayon. The texture is from the textured notebook I was bearing down on:

Doesn't this look cool?!!! It looks complicated but it is NOT. It starts by drawing one curved line across your paper and adding seven or eight dots across the line (see if you can find my original line). Watch this short video and give Op Art a go! ● If you have AR tests to take, try and get them done by Thursday, April 30th to be considered for AR awards and incentives for the 2019-20 school year.

● Go directly to the MCMS webpage, to gain access to the AR program as well as many others you may need. We have been experiencing problems going through Clever. https://mcms.mcintosh.k12.ga.us

● Reminder - AR login should be firstname.lastname for username and 6-digit birth date (ex. 011009, January 10, 2009 no slashes) for password.

● Please let me know if you are experiencing any problems getting logged in. I will be checking AR goals again each week to see how you all are progressing.

● RenLearn (AR) has changed their look. This is what the platform will look like when you log in:

● We have worked out the details to have a library book drop at the middle school to get those overdue materials returned. The file cabinet has a designated drawer for “Book Return”.

● Please DO NOT remove books from the drawer. If you have a specific book that you want/need, and see it there, please contact me via email and I will see what I can do to accomodate.

● One last thing, PLEASE clean out your bookbags, under your bed, etc. and get those library books that you have returned AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! I will definitely be giving some awards out for 100% turn in of library books...even to those 8th graders that are moving on to MCA. We are limited with our ability to replace lost books, so it helps us out to get those turned in. If you are unable to

get them to the school, please contact me via email and I will make arrangements for safe pick-up.
