The adult school on Laura Island , formerly taught by MlsB Eleanor Wilson ,the mi s s i onar y, now a~ay froe this area, 18 being taught by the teachersof the elementary em 001 there . This proj ect 18 one of their own under­taking and ehowe the development of individual i~itiative. Practically allof the ministers and delegates to the Marshallese Church Conference , whichended 5 January , have been re t urn ed to their h e islands with a few etragglers planning to leave on the native 8chooner Mera when it visits MaJuroearly in March .

Fathers Feeney and Donahue with their north base at Llkiep andtheir south base at Majuro continue to serve the emall Catholic popula­tion in the outlying i.lands and atolls . Marshallese Protestant paetoreunder the guidance of Kiee Elinor Wileon are located on the majority oftbe atolls. Miss Wilson nov has her headquarters at Majuro ls1and,Ma.1uro atoll .

Chaplain BUckingham from KWajaleln has established a schedule ofvisits durinR the first week of each month to MaJuro atoll .

(b) Church echoole : -

There are three mesiaD schools In the Marshall Islands operatingwith the approval and general supervision althe Civil Administrator .The echool at lmroj leland, Jaluit atoll ie functioning with two Mar­shalleee instructors and the enrol1ment Is In the main 1n the age Rroupof sixteen years and over .

The miesion echool at Likiep atoll operated by Fathere Feeney andDonahue and employing two Marehalleee instructors now has an enrollmentot sixty five students. This represents largely the age ~roup of undersixteen yeare old. At the present time the miseion school at Likiephas the better facilitiee and perhape the m~ t effecient organization of
