Why are we unique?

RidgeGear is supported by Marling Leek, Europe’s market leader in narrow fabric production, the innovation and design that was used to develop and produce the automotive seat belt and the one piece woven airbag. All this knowledge has been combined to help develop and manufacture our technical webbing range. Combined with our advanced production methods, engineering processes and testing procedures, our height safety products are truly unique and simply the best.

What do we control?

WeavingWe take high tenacity multi-filament polyester yarns andweave them on site on state of the art high tech machinery.The product at this stage is white and tested to destructionto ensure it’s fitness for purpose. During the weaving theproduct is vigorously tested by dedicated operators workingto a carefully designed specification.

DyeingWe take our loom-state webbing and treat it down a state of the art continuous piece dye machine. The dyes are usedto produce a perfect colour-fast product and are tested andinspected continuously throughout the process. The dyes are specialist disperse dyes used in similar processes suchas the automotive industry and in the production of lifesaving products such as the seat belt.

Quality Control

Our continuous and rigorous testing does not stop there. We know this is a life saving product and testing is continuedyet again, even after the production process is complete. The webbing will only be released for one of our productswhen it passes all the demanding tests of height safety.

Being part of The Unitex Group we don’t purchase our products we make them. RidgeGear has all it’s suppliers on the same site all close at hand and sharing the same commitment to quality andattention to detail. RidgeGear design, manufacture and test to thehighest specification the most advanced height safety productsavailable today.

Fall ArrestOur benchmark design goal was to develop a state of the art fall arrestor which had increased functionality,was robust enough for all environments and was of a fail safe design. The attention to detail of our design and test teams has produced a streamlined and ergonomic range of fall arrest blocks.
