BAE Systems

The Tactica family is a complete range of versatile, affordable 4x4 wheeled vehicles, ideally suited for use by both military and civil security forces in a wide variety of roles.

Tactica is currently in service, providing an operationally proven capability. It has a long history of successful operations in densely populated areas and in a wide variety of conditions, including temperate, tropical and desert environments.

Its clean profile makes it well suited to police and civil security applications where a subtle approach is required. At the same time, its armour protection, reliability and impressive on and off-road mobility make it equally suited to military tasks.

Tactica is available in a selection of variants which in combination provide commanders with the ability to undertake a broad range of operations.

PRoTECTIoN A non-aggressive appearance belies a tough armour-plated hull, defeating 7.62 mm armour-piercing rounds, firebombs and IEDs. Ballistic overlaps protect doors and windows, while run-flat tyres ensure mobility under attack. The vehicle is certified to STANAG level 1 blast protection and B7 ballistic protection.

MoBILITY The Tactica family has been designed to incorporate turbo-charged diesel engines, comfortably providing road speeds of 120 km/h. Mobility, off-road and over obstacles, is delivered by a permanent 4x4 wheel drive system using widely available commercial components.

MANoEuvRABILITY Tactica is designed to perform in complex and cluttered urban environments. With an impressive turning circle, the vehicle can operate in confined spaces and narrow streets.

ThE huMAN fACToRDriver fatigue is effectively managed in urban traffic and long-distance deployments, thanks to a combination of a smooth ride, full-width protected vision, comprehensive instrumentation and power-assisted controls.

vARIANTSTactica’s large interior capacity and versatile design allow for a selection of roles and variants. Together, they provide commanders with the ability to undertake a broad range of operations, including:

PERSoNNEL CARRIER The Personnel Carrier variant is fitted with seats for a commander, a driver and a team of up to 12. It also has storage capacity for riot equipment, a fold down weapon mount and a power operated barricade remover.

CoMMAND & CoNTRoL The Command & Control variant is fitted out to accept the latest communications equipment. The engine can run continuously to provide power for command & control equipment as well as for vehicle air-conditioning systems.

Capacity: 6 personnel

AMBuLANCE The exceptional interior volume of the Ambulance variant allows for a wide range of medical treatment to be conducted. It has provisions for two patients on stretchers or one on a stretcher and four seated. There is also space for two medical personnel, a driver and a commander. The vehicle provides the same level of protection as the other Tactica variants.

Capacity: up to 5 patients 4 personnel

ExPLoSIvE oRDNANCE DISPoSAL The EOD variant enables a team to deploy with the necessary equipment and countermeasures to hand. Key features include ample storage, flexible workstations and ease of access.

wATER CANNoN The Water Cannon variant has seating for a commander, driver and two other crew, alongside 5,000 litres of water capacity. With full remote control of the water cannon from a position under armour, the vehicle is versatile, fast and capable of operating in complex and cluttered environments. Uniquely for a vehicle of its kind, the crew are fully protected. It also features a manually operated barricade remover.
