Do not put any bottle or cups with water on the device, in case of spilling out.

Do not put the device under the condition of high-temperature, heavy-dust,

direct-sunlight or close to heat-source.

Make sure the working condition is well-ventilated, and do not block the venthole

of the device.

Make sure the working temperature is between (-10℃~+55℃).

Do not diconnect the device when it is energized. 1、Device Installation

1.1 Hard Disk Installation

First time use, please install the Hard Disk first. If not, the Video Recorder could only

monitor normally, but it can not record and do playback.

○1 Remove the case

○2 Plug in SATA cable

○3 Screw HDD to the bottom Notice: Please try to choose a special monitoring Hard drive disk in order to record for a longer time. The Video Recorder support SATA II, SATA III, and 320GB-6TB hard disk.

○4 Install the case back

Warning: please make sure the power is off before installing.

1.2 Boot & Preview Make sure the power supply matches the requirements of the hard disk video recorder. After connecting the power, the indicator on the front case of the DVR will light on and you will hear a buzzer sound, then the display will boot up and the device will access to the preview image. After the recovery of the non-normal power failure, the device will be automatically restored to the state before the power is off. 2、Function Setting

2.1 Login System After the normal Boot, you have to log in first and the system will provide the corresponding function according to the user's rights. Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】;

Username: admin (default) Password: blank (default)

Notice: If input a wrong password for three times consecutively ,the device will alarm, input a wrong password for five times consecutively, your account will be lockout(System restart or after half an hour it will automatic released), For safety’s sake, Please alter the user password timely in User Management. 2.2 HDD Setup Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】→【Advanced】→【Storage】;

Choose the Hard Disk, click Format Storage, Start formatting the HDD. Notice: Please confirm the Hard Disk is connected. The hard disk should be formatted of initial use so that it can record. It is a default function that it will automatically overwritten when the Hard Disk storage is full.

2.3 General Setup Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】→【System】→【General】; [Time Zone]Choose the right time according to your time zone. [Storage Full] Choose Overwrite: Continue recording video and cyclic Coveringthe former video while the Storage of HDD is full. Choose Stop: Stop recording video while the Storage of HDD is full. [Auto Logout] You can set up a 0-60 min auto standby 0-60 min, 0 min means you don’t set up the standby time.

2.4 Record Setup Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】→【Record】→【Record Conf】;

[Length]Set up the time length for per Video file, Default time is 60 minutes. [Period]Set up the record period, it will be start-up recording within the period. [Regular]Within the Period, regular recording video [Detect]Within the setup period,trigger“Motion Detection” alarm signal,the device start to detect recording and the alarm should be setup as opening the recording function. “Motion Detection”, please refer to 2.7 Part. Notice: Default settings is a 24-hour recording continuously for all channel.

2.5 Video Playback Right click the mouse→【PlayBack】;

Partial enlarged:When you choose a full-screen playback,you could select any region by the left mouse button. And in the selected area, left click the mouse, you can enlarge the regional picture. Double right click the mouse to exit partial enlarged picture. ①Video Playback Region ②Video date query,color filled represent containing video content ③Playback Channel Optional ④Video Playback time ⑤Playback control key

2.6 Video Backup

Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】→【Record Conf】→【Backup】→【Backup】;

Choose Video Type→Choose Channel→Choose time→Click Add button, Search Video file, Choose the file in the list of video, click Start button start to backup, it will automatically prompt after the completion of the backup. Notice: USB Portable device must be fat32 format, max support 500G. Please choose AVI format while backup so that the backup video could play on PC directly.

2.7 Motion Detection

Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】→【Alarm】→【Motion Detect】;

[Region]Set up:Color cover region is the fortification area for the dynamic, and the transparent color region is the unprotected area. Hold the left mouse button, select the setting region. [Period]:During the setting period, the device will trigger the alarm signal of motion detection. And you can setup 4 periods one day at most. And you have to select the the

check box■, then the setup will be valid. [MD Interval]: During the interval time, there will trigger one alarm signal though it has motion detection for some times. [Channel]: Select demand Channel(Multiple choice), [Show Message]‘☑’shows on, one the local screen, pop-up alarm message prompt dialog box. [Buzzer]‘☑’shows on,the device will make two long sound once alarm. [Send EMAIL]‘☑’ shows on, and send email. Need set up Email in Netservice, please refer to 2.8 Email Setup.

2.8 Email Setup

Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】→【System】→【NetService】→【Email】;

[SMTP server]: sender’s mailbox SMTP server [Port]: sender’s mailbox SMTP port [Username]: username of the sender’s mailbox (Must support and open SMTP Function) [Password]: password of the sender’s mailbox Click[test],send an email to receiver to test the E-mail setting. Notice: Before testing the Email, please confirm the Network has been connected

successfully.

2.9 Network Setup Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】→【System】→【Network】; [IP address]Must be a unique IP address on the same LAN segment, to avoid conflicts with other equipment in local area. [HTTP Port]: a port number for remote visit, default value is 80. [Primary DNS]Domain name system server for the domain name resolve into IP address. The address is provided by your network operator. And it will take effect after the device is rebooted.

2.10 Check Nat Status

Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】→【Info】→【Version】;

[SeriaNo] Device Serial Number of remote view [Nat Status] Check the Net Status, it will begin a remote monitoring if shows connected.

2.11 Remote View Via PC Open the Browser, enter http://www.xmeye.net, arrive at browsing page of remote view, choose “By Device” and load in so that realized remote view.

2.12 Remote View via PC Client Software

Running and Install PC Client Software, open the PC Client Software after installation complete.

Click the menu [system settings]→ [monitoring point management] adding the Device First adding region, and then add the Device. Search the device’s IP of device of LAN, and then choose the target device. After that you could get remote view in preview page.

2.13 Remote View Via Smart Phone ① Install the software: For Android: scan the QR code to download XMEye, For IOS: scan the QR code or search XMEye in APP Store to download. Right click the mouse→【Guide】→【Install mobile app】Gain QR Code

② Install successfully, register user, add device and begin a remote view

Entry Device Serial Number or 【Guide】→【Add the device】Scan SN QR Code Username: admin (default) Password: blank (default)

2.14 User Management

Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】→【Advanced】→【Account】;

[Modify Password]Select User name, enter to Modify Password page, and modify password [Add User]Add User account and setup the User’s permissions. Enter into the Add User Page, input the User Name and Password, final setup the User’s permissions. Totally it provides 33 permission options, includes close device, real-time monitor, playback, record setup and video file backup etc. Notice: Password can be setup as a 1-6 numbers or Letters combination, please remember the revised password. 2.15 Audio Setting

Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】→【System】→【Encode】;

[Video/Audio]‘☑’shows the video file for streaming audio and video composite, connect the pickups to record audio.

3、Digital Channels setup Some device can support both Analog and IP Cameras, it can connect to IP Cameras if change the device to digital Channel. 3.1 Digital Channels Setup Right click the mouse→【Main Menu】→【System】→【Digital】→【Digital channels】 Select the Analog Channels and Digital Channels, tick in the small blank box □ and restart.

3.2 IPcamera Add IP Camera ① Add IPC in Preview Page: Click Digital Channels “+”, enter the IP channel config

wizard interface, Search IPC in LAN( Must support Onvif). It can connect to IPC once add IPC Completely.

②【Main Menu】→【System】→【Digital】→【ChannelType】entrance remote Channel configuration, add IPC.

Notice: Please confirm the User Name and Password of IPC is right or not if the video can’t be opened.
