DURODECO CONCRETODECORATIVE CONCRETE LOOK WALL FINISH
DESCRIPTION
Concreto from the Durodeco range of wall finishes is a
polymer modified cement based plaster designed for
the beautification of internal and external masonry
surfaces.
When mixed on site with clean potable water and
applied to a prepared substrate using traditional
plastering methods Concreto achieves the look of a
newly laid concrete floor .
RECOMMENDATIONS
Concreto is suitable for internal and external applications.
Concreto can be applied over well bonded painted surfaces as well as pre-cast concrete, AAC, cement fibre board and traditional cement/lime renders.
Concreto is best protected when over coated with a water based clear acrylic top coat.
LIMITATIONS
Do not apply Concreto to a wet/saturated substrate.
Do not apply Concreto at temperatures below 5°C or
higher than 35°C.
Before applying Concreto to the prepared substrate, ensure
all adjacent fixtures are protected i.e. window and door
frames, roof and floor finishes by covering using masking
tape and a plastic protective sheet.
When applying Concreto ensure the substrate is in the shade and not being adversely effected by strong winds.
The information provided in this technical bulletin is as correct in detail as possible and is intended to give a fair description of the product and its capabilities. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Substrate PreparationAll surfaces should be sound, dry and free from but not limited to, dirt, dust, oil, grease, wax, tar, mildew, mould,
loose paint, foreign sealers, curing agents, loose particles, laitance or any other foreign matter that may impede
with the bonding of the Durodeco primer.
Substrate Priming
Priming of the substrate is crucial in making the substrate uniformly absorbent prior to the application of the
Concreto base coat. On the approved substrate apply one coat of Durodeco primer by brush, roller or spray until
an even coverage is achieved. (Consumption rate will vary dependent of substrate type).
Allow to dry.
Product Preparation
Into a clean mixing vessel place 3-4 litres of clean potable water then add the required pre-mixed powder
slowly while mixing using a low speed mechanical mixer till a homogenous lump free consistancy is achieved.
Allow the mixture to stand for three (3) minutes and remix. Pot life of the mixture is approximately 90 min @
25°C and 50% relative humdity .
The material is now ready to use.
Product Application
Base Coat
Apply the prepared Concreto base coat with a stainless steel float in one pass evening out as you go over the
primed substrate.
Immediately after placing the Concreto base coat finish by applying even pressure with a plastic float and in
circular motions smooth out the material to create a uniform granular finish.
Allow to dry before applying the Concreto top coat
Concreto Apply the prepared Concreto top coat over the base coat with a stainless steel float in one pass evening out as you go. As the material starts to become firm apply even pressure with a clean stainless steel float compacting the material as you go to create a smooth and even surface. Continue compacting the material with a clean Stainlees steel float until a hard, smooth and uniform is achieved.
Colour Concrete grey
Consumption Base coat 10-12m2 approximately dependent on substrate.
CleaningTools can be cleaned with water before it hardens. Once hardened cleaning becomes difficult and can be carried
out mechanically.
Packaging Bag
Storage12 months in original packaging and stored a dry place. Note: Protect from moisture.
