The traditional Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE)program has just gotten easier for customers to provideon-the-spot feedback just by scanning a QR code. Thecode directly links the customer to specific functionalareas that are already on the ICE website.

How does it work? Organizations will have ICE markerswith QR codes posted for smartphone use! After scanningthe code with a smartphone, customers will see the ICEComment Card for the office or organizational area thatthey can complete and submit electronically to providefeedback on their experience.

Want to give someone an "Atta boy" or perhaps suggestimprovements? The ICE Program is the perfect methodto use.

The ICE markers will look something like this.If you do not see something that looks like this, ask where you can find it.

Cooking is the leading cause of all winter home fires:The leading cause of fires in the kitchen is unattended cooking.

Most cooking fires in the home involve the kitchen stove.

Stay in the kitchen while you are frying, grilling, or broiling food. If you leave thekitchen for even a short period of time, turn off the stove.

If you are simmering, baking, roasting, or boiling food, check it regularly.

Remain in the home while food is cooking and use a timer to remind you thatyou are cooking.

Keep anything that can catch fire - oven mitts, wooden utensils, food packaging, towels, or curtains away from your stovetop.

If you have a small (grease) cooking fire and decide to fight the fire:On the stovetop, smother the flames by sliding a lid over the pan and turning off theburner.

Leave the pan covered until it is completely cooled.

For an oven fire, turn off the heat and keep the door closed.

If you have any doubt about fighting a small fire:

Just get out!

When you leave, close the door behind you to help contain the fire.

Call 9-1-1 or the local emergency number from outside the home.

Water pipes, even insulated ones, may freeze in the winterif the outside temperature drops below 10 degrees. You cantake a few simple steps to prevent this from occurring inyour house when the temperature becomes extremely cold.Allow the water pipes to trickle out of faucets in bathroomsand kitchen sinks. If the water in a pipe is moving, it is lesslikely to freeze. A large flow of water is not necessary, butboth the warm and cold faucets should be slightly open.FUN FACT: Often, the hot water pipes burst from freezingbefore the cold water pipes do because they are used less.

Remove hoses from outside water faucet connections.Even if the water is turned off, residual water in the hoseswill freeze.
