LAST TIME OUT: Matt Larkins suffered his third consecutive loss, as the Ducks fell to the York Revolution 8-4 last Thursday. The right-hander fell into an early hole when he gave up a three-run home run to Michael Burgess in the first inning. Two innings later, he surrendered three more runs on five hits, including an RBI double by Isaias Tejeda and a two-run single by Burgess. The 28-year-old finished his day with 61 pitches thrown, 41 for strikes, and gave up six runs on eight hits and a walk over three innings with four strikeouts. MOSCOW MULE: In his career, Larkins has established himself as a durable pitcher who can reliably eat innings. In 2015 with Amarillo, Larkins tied for the American Association lead with 152.0 innings pitched, and has thrown at least 124.1 innings in three consecutive seasons. The right-hander has six career com-plete games, including three in 2014. ON THE MOVE: Larkins has been traded an impressive five times in his six-year career, including three times by teams he never played for. The San Angelo Colts, Wichita Wingnuts and Southern Maryland Blue Crabs have all traded the 28-year-old during the same offseason in which they acquired him. The Long Island Ducks originally traded for Larkins in September of 2016, acquiring him from the Lincoln Saltdogs.

PITCHER TIDBITS Began his professional career in 2012 with Abilene of the North American

League. Played collegiately at the University of California, Riverside, playing four

years for the Highlanders. Spent the first three years of his career as both a starter and a reliever, be-

fore converting to a full-time starting pitcher in 2014 while with Amarillo. While in high school at Temescal Canyon in Lake Elsinore, California,

Larkins volunteered as a tee ball coach.
