    Storyboard & Cataloguing Pro

    1

    INTRODUCTION AND OVERVIEW

In the universe of textile and clothing, the visual presentation of yourcreations is essential! Storyboard & Cataloguing Pro represents currentlythe only software for presentation and catalogue creation specificallydeveloped for the textile field. The aim of this section is to unveil brieflythe different functionalities of this software.

    Easily handle your projects!

    TheOpen

command permits you to work on an existing presentation. While you use this function, Storyboard & Cataloguing Pro displays onyour screen all objects comprised in the selected presentation. You can theneasily perform all the desired modifications on them, changing - modifyingthe already present objects, while also importing new ones.

Another choice available to you: it is possible to create an entirely newpresentation starting from a blank display, using the New command.Give your imagination free course!

The Print Setup command ( File Menu ) permits you to select then theappropriate parameters for your new presentation (resolution, image size, paper orientation, etc.). To make your presentation more appealing, you arealso given the choice of assigning a texture or a background color to yourpresentation.

You will then also be permitted to modify at any moment the properties of

the current document, by right-clicking anywhere in your presentation andthen selecting the Page Configuration command from the pop-up menuwhich appears.

A wide choice of books and objects

Storyboard & Cataloguing Pro offers you a wide array of objects whichyou can insert into your presentations: pictures, articles, Easy Weave files,3D images which can be mapped, materials, color palettes, projects havingbeen created in other NedGraphics applications, OLE objects, etc. For each

At the end of the work session, when you save your presentation, thechanges you made to the OLE objects during the current work session willalso be saved.

    Play with the objects!

Once a series of objects is integrated into your presentation, you will beable to edit and modify these objects to your liking, owing to a large varietyof functions from the different objects pop-up menus. In addition, owing tothe Article Colors and Article Functions toolbars you will be enabled toapply to your articles a series of operations regarding mainly the mapping

of fabrics on the different areas that compose your article.

In addition to the functions that allow you to modify the objectsthemselves, the Arrangement Toolbar permits you to organize the modein which the objects are combined in the page of the presentation. You canrotate objects using the Rotate 90 left and Rotate 90 right functions, andprecisely control their positioning using additional tools.

Eventually, owing to the OLE technology, it is possible to switch betweendifferent software modules and to launch other applications, such asdrawing and coloring applications, directly from within Storyboard &Cataloguing Pro. You are thus provided with an impressive array of functions to modify your objects and transform them to your liking. Owingto Storyboard & Cataloguing Pro , the objects in your presentation becomeartistic creations, which you can handle according to your liking.

    Basic Windows Concepts

As this software has been developed under the Windows environment, you

will need to be familiar with basic Windows concepts and functions. If thisis not the case, please refer to the Windows help and tutorial provided withyour system.

Some of the basic Windows concepts and functions referred to in this guideinclude:

Click : to click an item means to place the mouse pointer or cursor overthe item, and to press and then release the left mouse button withoutmoving the mouse. You click to choose or select an item, or to operate atool.

Double-click : to double click an item means to click it rapidly two times. This action is used in certain selection procedures and for launching certainfunctions.

Drag : to drag means to move the mouse while holding down the left

button. This action is used with certain tools to select an area of the screen, and also forms part of the action drag and drop.

Drag and Drop : to drag and drop an item means to click the item, drag to anew position on the screen, and then release the mouse button, so that theitem is moved to the new position. You can move whole windows with thistechnique by dragging and dropping the title bar, similarly drag and dropthe edge of a toolbar to move it to a different location on the screen.

Right Click : to click the right mouse button when the cursor is over thearea of the screen you are using. Typically this is in order to obtain a pop-up menu.

Owing to the Windows architecture, it is possible to have several files openat once, in which case several working windows will be displayed on thescreen. Equally, for some programs, it may be possible to have severalviews of the same project open at the same time as separate windows.

However, we advise against having too many files open at the same time inorder that all windows are at least partially visible.

The parallel port comprises two rows of holes, 25 holes in all.

If there is already a parallel dongle connected to the parallel port, simplyadd the new dongle to the end of it.

If you are using an USB type of dongle, connect it to your free USB port.

If the other end of the printer cable is attached to your printer, the printer must be switched on or the dongle will not allow your software to be used.

In case you should have any difficulty in printing, you may need to use asecond parallel port for your printer.
