Glossary

3P3Z – Three pole three zero (a type of compensator)

Compensator – Closed-loop feedback filter controlling power conversion

CSCI – Climate Savers Computing Initiative, a nonprofit group promoting

technologies that improve power efficiency of computers

DSC – Digital signal controller

GBW – Gain bandwidth. A measure of an amplifier's performance

HID – High intensity discharge lights that produce light by means of an

electric arc through gas and metal salts (e.g. xenon, metal-halide, etc.)

ISR – Interrupt service routine

PID – Proportional integral derivative (a type of compensator)

Plant – Portion of a power supply responsible for power delivery. Also

know as powertrain
