History of D&BDrum and bass began as a musical paradigm shift of the United Kingdom breakbeat hardcore and rave scene of the mid 1990s; and over the first decade and a half of its existence there have been many permutations in its style, incorporating elements from dancehall, electro, funk, hip hop, house, jazz, pop-created fusion of hardcore, house and pioneered by Joey Beltram, L.A. Style, CJ Bolland, Richie Hawtin and others. This scene existed briefly from approximately 1989-1993, a period of cross-pollination with the UK hardcore sound. This sound did survive in various forms in its mother countries - primarily Belgium, Holland and Germany - beyond 1992, but by then the general scenes in these countries had moved forwards to trance, industrial techno or gabba. London and Bristol are the two cities which are most associated with Drum and Bass. Now that Drum & Bass is widely disturbed via raves, concerts and parties, it is more known and artists are becoming more familiar. Their new introduction into the music scene, the Drum & Bass industry are still in the process of making history.

AudienceThe target audience particularly is teenagers and young adults between 18 and 21 as the genre varies between many different drum and bass. You can get many such as jungle, dirty bass, drum and bass or drum and bass with some dubstep. Between these different varies of the drum and bass genre, more target audiences are made as the preference of the variety changes depending on the age group and environment you’re listening drum and bass in. The vibrancy and multi-coloured colour pallets used at raves, parties and concerts extenuate the attraction for teenagers and brings them into the music much more and helps them experience the rave scene more and helps them feel more ‘happy’ in a sense.
