Dr. Sue Fitzsimmons VicePresident Academic P 780.491.3970 E [email protected] Dr. Sue Fitzsimmons joined NAIT’s executive team as VicePresident Academic in 2016. She champions NAIT’s academic mission, which includes the promotion of excellence in polytechnic education, research and industrial innovation, and holistic student success. As VicePresident Academic, Sue oversees the following areas: Learning and Teaching Commons Campus Life Engagement Office of Research and Innovation Sue has been at NAIT since 2008. Her previous positions include Senior Advisor in the Office of the Provost and VicePresident Academic, Director of the Department of Teaching and Academic Development and Consultant with Corporate and International Training. In 2010, she received a NAIT Students’ Association Award of Excellence recognizing superior contribution to the student experience. This was for her efforts to ensure the student perspective was included in the creation of a renewed approach to faculty development and performance evaluation. Prior to joining NAIT, Sue was a Senior Manager with Alberta Health Services, overseeing provincial addiction research services as well as social marketing and resource development services. She is also a former Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg and a former elementary school teacher. Sue holds a PhD in education from the University of Alberta.

 Dr.  Sue  Fitzsimmons  Vice-­President  Academic  P  780.491.3970    E  [email protected]    Dr.  Sue  Fitzsimmons  joined  NAIT’s  executive  team  as  Vice-­President  Academic  in  2016.  She  champions  NAIT’s  academic  mission,  which  includes  the  promotion  of  excellence  in  polytechnic  education,  research  and  industrial  innovation,  and  holistic  student  success.    

As  Vice-­President  Academic,  Sue  oversees  the  following  areas:
