GITAM Career Guidance Centre (GCGC) is an organisational wing at GITAM(Deemed to be University), dedicated solely to guide students towards the career paths that they are best suited for, by providing professional counsel, training and assistance. GCGChelps the students be industry ready by combining classroom education withcareer-specific training.

The objectives of the centre are to:• Provide training for development of integrated personality.• Provide employable skills to all students.• Develop innovative entrepreneurs and dynamic leaders for the nation.• Achieve 100% gainful placement.

The centre functions under the guidance of the Principal of each institute. The training and placement o�cer is assisted by assistant training o�cer. A senior faculty member from each department coordinates the activities of the centre with the active involvement ofstudent coordinators.

Year on year, the number of students graduating in India, increasingly outnumber the jobs

that are available. The most promising way to secure a bright future in such a landscape

is through entrepreneurship. Keeping this in mind, The Venture Development Centre

(Innovation Cell) has been set up under GITAM (deemed to be University) Institute for

Development of Entrepreneurship (GUIDE). The cell’s main aim is to nurture students into

being job creators instead of job seekers.

To benefit from their globally renowned expertise in venture development, GITAM has

partnered with Northeastern University, Boston, to establish a Venture Development

Centreon campus. They have specially designed entrepreneurship programmes that guide

students in a very hands-on manner. This ensures that by the time a student graduates, they

have developed a clear user-centric thought process. Some may even have well thought-out

ideas for a start-up.

VDC hosts various entrepreneurial activities in the campus so that students can mull over

their ideas and develop them into functional business plans under proper guidance. This

ensures they are properly mentored and have the necessary exposure to ensure that they can

pitch well to investors for funding.

The Innovation Cell, runs hand in hand with the E-cell that is a student run club for creating

awareness about entrepreneurship among students, faculty and sta�. The club is divided into

various action groups and they function together to provide a holistic and well-rounded

exposure to the students.

Hostels:Many students choose to stay in our hostels and we provide them with everything they require. Dining, emergency services, recreation centres and a whole host of other essentials necessary across all campuses for a student’s well-being.

Round-the-clock security and surveillance is available for the safety of students. If anything is to go wrong, they can always come to us for guidance and help.

GITAM is YourDost

In today’s day and age, with technology and globalization taking over, many things have been heard, but unspoken of. Stress, pressure, anxiety and depression have turned out to be the bottle necks in our lives. Realising same, the Directorate of Student Life at GITAM, has proudly collaborated with a Mental Health and Emotional Wellness platform, YourDOST. The platform provides counselling sessions to the entire GITAM community.

With its launch in the month of October, 2020, the journey with YourDOST has been rewarding and fruitful. During its launch, a total number of 418 users, used the wellness platform taking up a total of 618 counselling sessions. Witha gradual growth, the total number users went up to 1504 taking up a total of 2002 counselling sessions.

Udaan

An Initiative of the Directorate of Student life – Udaan, is a mental health and emotional wellness platform created for the entire GITAM Community. Its main purpose is to enable and create a safe space where individuals are comfortable to express their concerns, seek help, feel relieved, alive and most important - liberated from various shackles of life that creates barriers in reaching their potentials.

The time-tested way of establishing a competitive sports culture is by introducing Student athletes throughan e�ective Sports Quota system. Moodle is the world’s most popular learning management system (LMS). Moodle has a rich repository of plugins that enable the user community to expand the functionality. The platform was adopted at GITAM to provide faculty with features such as dynamic quiz, interactive content, adaptive lessons, gamification, competency-based education, mobile learning, etc. to enable pedagogical innovation.

Grammarly is a global, AI assisted, writing platform that helps users communicate with impact. It scans documents/ texts for spelling errors, grammatical errors, and even suggests changes to sentence structure. Over 40 million+ scholars, students, and researchers worldwide use Grammarly. GITAM now has an annual license for the software, and it is available for our faculty, sta�, and students across all 3 campuses.

GITAM has collaborated with Coursera to give free access to its students to more than 7000 courses to all its students. Students can get certified for respective courses once they complete these courses.
