DreamWakers harnesses free video conferencing services to connect

classroom learning to real-world careers, narrowing the opportunity

gap for students in under-resourced schools by providing them with

the unique opportunity to virtually meet dynamic professionals from

beyond their city limits. By providing positive exposure to role

models and careers, DreamWakers aims to inspire the next

generation of leaders to envision and prepare for their own future.

We partner with 4th- to 12th-grade classrooms exclusively in schools

where at least 50% of the student body is eligible for free or

reduced-price lunch. Why? By the age of six, students from low-

income households spend 1,300 fewer hours outside of their home

compared to their affluent peers. Research shows that students' lack

of exposure to extracurricular learning manifests into profound

educational and professional consequences for low-income

students. When youth have positive adult role models, they are more

likely to have academic confidence, be engaged in school, and show

an interest in learning.

OUR MISSION

Nearly two-thirds of American companies

have positions for which they cannot find

qualified applicants. There is a shortage of

highly-skilled workers worldwide.

70% of educators feel that their students are

prepared to enter today's workforce. Only

50% of employers agree.

Only 32% of kids from low-income

families went to an art gallery, a museum

or a historical site over the summer. 63%

of middle-class or wealthy children did.

DreamWakers' virtual, 45-minute "flashchats" are designed to shed

light on the real-world applicability of curriculum, while highlighting

inspirational stories of engaging, relatable role models. Volunteer

speakers are able to join from anywhere with internet connection!

Each flashchat adds tangible classroom value by: increasing interest

in subject matter; encouraging students to build their own personal

vision; building strong critical thinking skills; exposing students to

new cultures and professional role models; and enhancing public

speaking skills and confidence.

CONNECTING CLASSROOMS TO CAREERS

Since DreamWakers has

served more than

students in  states.

We work with virtual volunteers

from more than  companies,

offering a bridge to tomorrow's

workforce for the of U.S.

employers who report having little

to no interaction with classrooms.

DreamWakers' network of

schools is growing every day!
