STITCH GUIDETREBLE CROCHET (abbreviated tr)

YO twice, insert hook in st indicated,

YO and pull up a loop (4 loops on

hook), (YO and draw through 2 loops

on hook) 3 times.

SINGLE CROCHET 2 TOGETHER

(abbreviated sc2tog)

Pull up a loop in each of next

2 ch-3 sps, YO and draw through all

3 loops on hook.

CENTERRnd 1: Using smaller size hook and

with concave side of wreath form

facing, join White with sc around

inner ring after any spoke (Photo A)

(see Joining With Sc); sc evenly across

to next spoke, H ch 3, skip spoke, sc

evenly across to next spoke; repeat

from H around to last spoke, drop

loop from hook and place on safety

pin (Photo B), turn wreath form over,

bring working yarn through middle

and rotate all sts so that tops are

facing inwards and right side of sc are

facing (Photo C), remove loop from

safety pin and place on hook, ch 1,

hdc in first sc to form last ch-3 sp:

6 ch-3 sps.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in last ch-3 sp made,

ch 16, slip st in 10th ch from hook

(first ch-6 sp made), ch 10, H sc in

next ch-3 sp, ch 16, slip st in 10th ch

from hook, ch 10; repeat from H

around; join with slip st to first sc:

6 ch-6 sps.

Rnd 3: Slip st in first 13 chs, ch 1, sc

in same sp, (ch 10, sc in next ch-6 sp)

around, ch 6, tr in first sc to form last

ch-10 loop: 6 ch-10 loops.

Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in last ch-10 loop

made, (ch 5, sc in next ch-10 loop)

around, ch 3, hdc in first sc to form

last ch-5 sp: 6 ch-5 sps.

Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in last ch-5 sp made,

(ch 3, sc in center ch of next ch-5)

around, ch 2, sc in first sc to form last

LARGE CURLIQUEWith Bulky Weight yarn, using larger

size hook, and leaving a long end for

attaching, ch 66.

Row 1: 3 Sc in second ch from hook

and in each ch across; finish off

leaving a long end.

MEDIUM CURLIQUEWith Bulky Weight yarn, using larger

size hook, and leaving a long end for

attaching, ch 44.

Row 1: 3 Sc in second ch from hook

and in each ch across; finish off

leaving a long end.

SMALL CURLIQUEWith Bulky Weight yarn, using larger

size hook, and leaving a long end for

attaching, ch 22.

Row 1: 3 Sc in second ch from hook

and in each ch across; finish off

leaving a long end.

Make various sizes of pom-poms to

cover wreath form and arrange as

desired.

To attach a pom-pom, thread a yarn

needle with one yarn end used

to form the pom-pom. Sew the

pom-pom to a wire, inserting needle

through the center of the pom-pom

several times, ending on the front

side of the wreath. Repeat with the

remaining yarn end, ending with the

yarn ends close to each other. Tie the

yarn ends in a knot and trim the ends

to blend with the pom-pom.

Thread a yarn needle with the long

ends of any Curlique and insert it

through a wooden bead. Repeat

with remaining Curliques. Using the

long ends, tie the Curliques to the

wreath form and fluff the yarn ends.

If desired, extra yarn strands can be

tied to the Curliques.

JOINING WITH SCWhen instructed to join with sc,

begin with a slip knot on hook. Insert

hook in space indicated, YO and pull

up a loop, YO and draw through both

loops on hook.

POM-POMCut a piece of cardboard 3" (7.5 cm)

wide and as long as you want the

diameter of your finished pom-pom

to be.

Wind the yarn around the cardboard

until it is approximately ½" (12 mm)

thick in the middle (Fig. 1a).

Carefully slip the yarn off the

cardboard and firmly tie an 18"

(45.5 cm) length of yarn around the

middle (Fig. 1b). Leave yarn ends long

enough to attach the pom-pom. Cut

the loops on both ends and trim the

pom-pom into a smooth ball (Fig. 1c).
