DESCRIPTION
Patent pending, DrChart will be a doctor’s app enabling much easier and rapid charting of a patient encounter. It will enable improved accuracy and provide the physician with visual confirmation of insurance levels and codes, which no other system currently offers. The app will run on any tablet computer. Instead of typing, writing, speaking or selecting radio buttons as current systems demand, DrChart will allow the user to simply gesture over phrases and terms, using a touch-sensitive screen, to create a doctor's written thoughts of the subject matter or "specialty" being reported. This technique is much simpler when creating a dialogue to share in a specialty, with the knowledge to interpret it. DrChart is unique in its approach to patient charting. It is proposed that this tablet-based, text-generating app for creating medical reports faster, easier, be developed for inserting into existing electronic medical record (EMR) systems. The software would run on any tablet computer, would be used primarily by a physician, and would be built around this new methodology for enabling the quick and easy creation of electronic reports simply. In 2014, Al Harlow was introduced to the idea of DrChart by an emergency room doctor frustrated by what he and many of his fellow physicians see as a very large problem. Immediately understanding how it could be built based on his years of experience as a products developer and entrepreneur all his entire life, Al has set out to see that the DrChart app is developed and the benefits imagined are realized.
