I. Physiological factors

i) Age Extreme of age show extreme drug

sensitivity Newborn babies & elderly= greater &

more prolonged effect of drugs b/c of less efficient drug metabolism & renal functions

functions more sensitive to various drugs

E.g., Chloramphenicol = Gray baby syndrome

children
