PYP Workshop

Thank you to the Korean

parents that attended the

In t roduct ion to PYP

workshop. In this workshop

an overview of the different

elements of PYP was given,

as well as an explanation of

the Programme of Inquiry

(POI). This will be followed

with an information session

on assessment.

P8 Open Class

P8 parents have been invited

to watch a morning of

classes on Friday 14th

December. This is an

opportunity for parents to

see the Primary Years

Programme (PYP) in action.

Parents will see a morning of

homeroom classes and a

music lesson. We hope to

offer more of these

opportunities in the coming

months.

P4 Recycling Day Next Wednesday 12th

December, P4 will be

holding a recycling day. This

is part of our work on the

use of materials in Unit 3.

Students are encouraged to

bring any used items to

school that we can use to

make new things. P4 parents

are very welcome to join us.

We will be starting after

break at approximately

10.50am.

Our trip to Beijing last weekend was inspirational, success-

ful and exhausting! Arriving by fast train on Friday night

we had dinner and rested in our cosy Hutong bed and break-

fast. Saturday was spent at the wonderful 798 arts district,

an almost endless area of galleries, studios and design

stores showcasing the contemporary Chinese art scene which

is quickly increasing its reputation in the global arts com-

munity as a dynamic contributor to the art world.

On Sunday we experienced the Forbidden City, examining

patterns and design for use in particular student projects

and

increasing our awareness and understanding of the influence

of classic Chinese art and design on contemporary China.

Thank you to all who supported the trip! These experiences

and ideas will provide fuel for the last four months of vis-

ual art in year two of the DP.
