1 Simple, sturdy, spring-clamp holder

A backboard with protruding dowels does the job for supporting4", 6", and 9"-long spring clamps. If you’ve got a similar assort-ment of these clamps, the rack shown here should suffice. Ifyou’ve got quite a collection, extend the board or make two ormore holders as needed.

We don’t recommend extending the dowels longer than dimen-sioned on the drawing below. Extended too far, they can getbumped and broken

2 Home for Bar ClampsThe slots in this quick-and-easy holder allowyou to store your sliding-head clamps in perfectorder by simply resting the head on the horizon-tal support. Without the slots, you’d have totighten the jaws to hold a clamp in place, andthen loosen the jaws when you want to removethe clamp from the holder.

To make the slots, cut the horizontal support toshape, rout ›" round-overs along the edges andcorners, and mark the notches 1fl" on center.Mount a ›" dado blade to your tablesaw, andraise the blade 2" above the saw table. Mount awood extension to your miter gauge, and makethe cuts where marked. As shown in the photoon page 1, we built and placed three racks end toend. You also could lengthen the two parts, andcut the number of slots needed to match yoursupply of clamps.

For Quick-Grip clamps, we found that anextended version (2‡" more from front to back)of the rack used to support our sliding-headclamps works wonderfully. The front supportwith its numerous slots holds the clamps uprightand keeps them from dinging the wall.

3 Nifty support for locking C-clamps

Projects often require clamping pressure applied sev-eral inches in from the outside edges for a good bond. When this happens, we turn to our locking C-clamps,the largest of which has a throat depth of more than15". To hang our collection of locking C-clamps, wefound this screw-together support an organizer’sdream.

4 All-in-row C-clamp rack

When the job calls for plenty ofclamping pressure, no-nonsense C-clamps provide the answer. To hangand organize this type of clamp, build our four-piece wall-mountedhanger with its notched front sup-port. The notches allow you to hangthe clamps on the rack without hav-ing to tighten them.

5 Handscrew-clamp hangout

If there was ever a simpler orga-nizer for handscrew clamps, wehaven’t seen it. Just cut the sup-port extension (A) to fitbetween the threaded rods ofthe clamp, chamfer the outsideend of the support, and securelymount it to the backboard (B).We’ve found that about fourclamps per support is a fullload. ¿
