American History
During the second world war, there were
many advances of technology. In this war
there were many new guns and machines
that aided the soldiers in battle. In this
picture you can see that the machine gun
was used to shoot bullets rapidly.
World War 2 was basically a fight against the fascist and communist movements. America was scared that they would consume America. Therefore, there were advertisements, like this one, that scared the American population in giving the government money to protect them and their children.
Like World War 1, there were a lot of young
males that enlisted in war. Many would lie
on their papers, and they would take them
in because America needed men to serve.
In this picture you can see that there are
many males, whose faces look like they
don’t go anywhere above 20.
This air base shows the technological
advancements of the world. In World War 1,
there were very few planes that went and
attacked ground forces. In World War 2 you
can see that there were bases that were
solely to house different fighter planes,
carriers, etc.
This image was taken after the German
Blitzkrieg (German’s plan of striking and
attacking with quickness and brute force).
Many European cities were devastated with
the Blitzkrieg and many children, like the
ones in the picture, were left homeless.
This nuclear bomb was named the fat man.
It was the second and last nuclear bomb
used in the second World War. It was
dropped in Nagasaki, Japan. It was
dropped on August 9, 1945, at 10:47 PM
(JSP). It killed 39 000 people.
The Enola Gay was the plane that dropped
the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. It had a six
man crew and each and every one of them
felt the wave of heat that came from the
bomb.
This was a picture of the explosion of the
“fat man”. This mushroom cloud was seen
after the bomb dropping in Nagasaki. The
“fat man” was estimated to produce force
equal to 21 kilotons of TNT.
This picture shows the American
achievements in the war. Raising the
American flag shows that they have won
and conquered their enemies. At the end of
the war, America was credited to be one of
the most strongest forces in the war.
• This memorial was built to honor and represent the many lives that were lost during the second World War. By honoring all these men, it gives the families that were burdened with the death of a brother or father, a sense of gratitude. Helps them feel that their death were not in vain.
