The two-year toddlermade headlines around theworld in 1993 when he wasabducted, tortured and mur-dered by two 10-year-oldboys, Robert Thompson andJon Venables.
There were harrowingCCTV images of the toddlerbeing led away by the boysfrom the New Strand Shop-ping Centre in Bootle nearLiverpool to his death;his body was found onrailway tracks a short dis-tance away.
Last night in BritainVenables, now aged inhis 30s, was released fromjail on parole.
The child killer was firstcontroversially releasedfrom a life sentence in 2001and given a new identity.But he was sent back to jailthree years ago from an ad-dress in the UK after it wasdiscovered he was accessingdepraved images of chil-dren, including toddlers,being raped.
James Bulger’s parents,Denise Fergus and RalphBulger, begged prison auth-orities to keep Venables be-hind bars but he was freedand given another identity.

CAIRO: Egypt’s military hasappealed for conciliation andwarned against revengeattacks after it toppled pre-sident Mohamed Morsi, aspolice rounded up senior Isla-mists ahead of planned ral-lies by Morsi supporters.
The military published thestatement on its spokesman’sFacebook page as scores wereinjured in clashes betweenthe Islamist Mr Morsi’s sup-porters and opponents in theNile Delta.
In the restive Sinai penin-sula, a soldier was killed inan attack by Islamist mili-tants early yesterday, as gun-men ambushed several armyand police positions withmachinegun fire and rockets,and attacked an airport.
The soldier was killedwhen the militants fired onan army checkpoint near thenorth Sinai village of al-Gura,medics said, adding two othersoldiers were wounded.
Militants fired rockets at apolice base and attacked mil-itary intelligence head-quarters in the border townof Rafa, security sources said.
The official MENA newsagency said military Apachehelicopters dispatched to pur-sue gunmen who attacked anairport in northern Sinaistruck a militants’ vehicle.
Some militants in the pen-insula had threatened a viol-ent response after Mr Morsi’souster on Wednesday.
The military statementsaid it supported the right topeaceful protest, but warnedthat violence and civil dis-obedience would ‘‘harmsocial peace’’.
