VALUE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS
Your clients depend upon you fulfilling
your promises and your agreements
on timing and budget. You require
equipment that works 24/7 and you
need service without boundaries. That is
exactly what THR Marine promises.
Proactive, focused on preventing down
time. THR Marine means controlling
operational costs, a prerequisite to
safeguard your competitive strength,
even in the toughest market. The most
important lesson we learned from
hundred years of experience -
Never stop improving.
However hard the wind blows, however high the seas: the vessel, crew
and cargo must be safe, in all conditions. Even when the vessel drops
anchor or moors. So you do not compromise at all when it comes to
winches, anchors and other mooring equipment. Equipment and systems
on deck must comply with the highest standards: they must be solid,
reliable and easy to use.
HEAVY DUTY, NO FRILLS. THAT IS OUR STARTING POINT AND HOW WE CREATE VALUE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS.

ON THE MOVE FROM EQUIPMENT TO SERVICES
After all, owning a winch, anchor or
chain is not that interesting. What
matters is that your crew has the most
effective equipment to sail the seven
seas. That is why we started a
development that you are already
benefiting from today, but even more
so tomorrow - Winches As A Service,
or WAAS. In other words, we
guarantee the smooth operation of
everything on deck to improve
efficiency and to reduce costs.
The THR Marine service and after sales
department can assist you in getting
optimal solutions with respect to:
1. OEM spare parts deliveries2. Operator training3. Scheduling maintenance programs4. Corrective maintenance5. Equipment upgrades
Our equipment comes under three categories: winches, anchors and
mooring equipment. We would actually prefer to refer to services rather
than to equipment.
7
TODAY WE ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT EQUIPMENT, BUT TOMORROW IT WILL BE ABOUT SERVICES.

CONTINUITY COUNTS
It’s why we always keep Design &
Engineering in house: we know and
guarantee what we make.
It is also the reason for making a move
from products to services over the
coming years. We do more than
supply top-quality equipment, we
make sure that everything does what
it should do with an intelligent mix of
monitoring, preventive maintenance
and repairs on site.
Anywhere in the world, at any time of
the day - The crew can count on us.
There is only one thing that counts for you and your crew and that is
continuity. Down time is simply out of the question, the vessel has to
keep moving. Therefore THR Marine never ceases to invest in Research
& Development - every day has to yield improvement.
THR MARINE IS ISO CERTIFIED (9001:2008).
10
11
WINCHESAnchoring, mooring or towing: THR Marine builds a winch for every
purpose. It goes without saying that a complete mooring system is also
available. We have several drive options, including the unique frequency
driven system with direct torque control.
12
ANCHORWINCHES
THR Marine anchor winches simply
exceed the requi re ments of the most
important classi fi cation societies. Our
range includes chain dia meters from
17.5 to 114 millimetres. Every anchor
winch can be supplied with remote
control, remote anchor drop and/or
chain-length counter. There are
many other options too; we would be
pleased to hear your requirements.
If you require additional safety then
combine our anchor winches with
our ratchet roller chain stopper that
automatically stops the chain in the
event of accidental slip.
Anchor winches can also be supplied
as capstan.
13
MOORINGWINCHESThe smoother the vessel moors, the
better for the safety of the crew, the
cargo and for efficiency. Reason why
you would want nothing other than
a THR Marine mooring winch.
Our mooring winches are designed
to achieve pulling forces of 3 to 50
tonnes. There are various options,
including self-tensioning (the mooring
line remains tensioned irrespective
of the tide and loading & unloading),
remote control and facilities that meet
the stringent OCIMF requirements.
Mooring winches can also be supplied
as anchor capstan.
14
TOWING AND ANCHOR HANDLING WINCHES
Reliable towing requires merciless
testing of the pulling power and the
brake-holding capacity. Prior to the
delivery THR Marine performs these
tests at its own test facility in Groningen,
where the winches are sub jected to
forces of up to 200 tonnes. You receive a
true and guaranteed turn-key product.
The requirements of the classification
societies do not pose a problem for
THR Marine.
For anchor handling operations we can
supply winches in a waterfall configu-
ration or side-by-side configuration.
15
MOORINGSYSTEMS
For offshore work, the crew must
be able to anchor the vessel safely
and stably. This requires a complete
system that includes winches, as
well as swivel fairleads, steel wires
and anchors. Are you looking for
guaranteed quality and the
convenience of one-stop shopping?
The THR Marine mooring systems are
the ideal choice: all the components
are perfectly integrated and matched.
Mooring systems are available as
four-point and eight-point versions.
16
ELECTRIC FREQUENCY CONTROLLED DRIVE
Ease of use, improved performance
and durability - an electric frequency
controlled drive has a host of benefits.
The operation can be integrated into
the winch, but remote control is also
possible and could be combined with
a screen on the bridge that provides
information about the vital functions.
The winch is protected against
excessive torque and overload,
ensuring wear and tear is minimal.
Energy consumption is low; you only
need a compact generator minimising
the impact on the environment too.
If required, the crew can call on
remote assistance by means of an
Ethernet connection that enables a
remote read-out of all the important
parameters.
17
ELECTRIC-HYDRAULICDRIVESave on construction costs and time,
and rely on a robust and reliable
winch system that has proved its
worth day in day out since the 1960s.
In that case, the electric-hydraulic
drive is the ideal drive for your winch.
The main benefit of an electric-hydraulic
drive is that you do not need a separate
power pack; the drive is integrated in
the winch housing. THR Marine
supplies the system, ready to be
positioned on deck and guarantees
hassle-free operation.
18
CONVENTIONALELECTRIC AND HYDRAULIC DRIVES
19
Besides our innovative frequency
controlled winches and electric-
hydraulic winches, we also supply
conventional electric drives and
hydraulic drives.
It is comfortable and responsible to
work with an electric drive, because
the winch is silent and environmentally
friendly. Maintenance is reduced to a
minimum, because there are no
hydraulic pipes.
When there is little room on board, it
might be an option to use compact
designed hydraulic winches. A dedicated
power pack is often not needed, because
the oil supply and pressure can be
maintained by a different system, such
as cranes or cargo pumps.

ANCHORSMore performance for less weight makes working with POOL® Anchors
efficient and comfortable. All POOL® Anchors are easy to handle. The crew
saves time, because the anchors are balanced; damage to the hull is
kept to a minimum and the anchors can be drawn easily into pockets.
POOL® Anchors are available from 8 to 26,000 kilograms. All types are
qualified as a High Holding Power anchor - you benefit from a 25% weight
saving in comparison to a conventional anchor.
22
TWM, TW & SHHP ANCHORS
The latest type of POOL® Anchor is our
TWM Anchor. An extra-strong anchor,
because the flukes are integrated into
the anchor head and it has side skirts.
Extra stability during lashing at sea is
guaran teed by the anchor being fixed
by four points.
Maximum performance from a High
Speed Light Vessel? Choose a
light- weight anchor, such as the
POOL® SHHP Anchor. This anchor with
Super High Holding Power provides
you superlative weight savings: the
same holding power with 50% less
weight. POOL® TW and TWM Anchors
can also be supplied with a stainless
steel bottom plate.
23
N ANCHORSLook good, perform even better.
POOL® N Anchors are often seen on
yachts, as they look good, and on large
container vessels because they excel
when it comes to performance. The
construction is fully welded. The flukes
are hollow, giving them exceptionally
high bending strength.
Especially for yachts, POOL® Anchors
can be supplied as a luxury version,
fully made of stainless steel and
mirror polished.
