Program objectives
• HELP TRAIN A NEW GENERATION OF INTERDISCIPLINARY U.S. SCIENTISTS WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF GLOBAL FOOD SECURITY.
• SUPPORT THE KEY RESEARCH THEMES OF THE FEED THE FUTURE INITIATIVE.
• FOSTER CROSS-CULTURAL DIALOG AND LONG-TERM RESEARCH RELATIONSHIPS.
• WORK WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS TO SUSTAIN A GROWING GLOBAL LEARNING COMMUNITY.
OVERVIEW Graduate Research Grants: support for graduate
research in-residence in a developing country setting and in
collaboration with an International Agricultural Research
Center.
• Offered twice yearly (Spring and Fall semesters)
• At least 30 grants awarded each year
• Students may apply multiple times but receive an award
once
Summer Institute: a 2-week long teaching program for
beginning graduate students who are interested in
developing a holistic understanding of the conceptual
challenges around global food security. (2015 dates are
tentatively set for June 7-20.)
