Description, continued: large scale k f l a t surfaces of t h i s house are offset by the elaborate <̂ f i n e l y executed porch posts, spindle f r i e z e k arackets, k the qaole k dormer bargeboards. There is a seconoary entry, typical of th i s nouse type, at the rear ot the porch.

Significance, continued: version. The Hines House is one of the best local examples of the two-story modified L-plan dwelling. I t retains much of i t s origin a l fabric and picturesque massing. E. H. Hines, who l i s t e d his occupation as •armer, b u i l t the house and owned i t u n t i l the iate 1930s when contractor T. F. Timmins purchased the dwelling.
