The United States Naval Academy offers opportunities
to challenge your limits. Consider attending one week
in June at the United States Naval Academys Summer
Seminar. This fast-paced, six-day experience will take
you beyond anything you have ever done before.

Interested students should visit the USNA website for application dates and
availability. In early January of their junior year, students may begin applications.
Selection is based in large part on ensuring geographic representation along with
overall accomplishments in and out of the classroom. All applicants will be notified
of their status by April 15.
Due to the limited space available in each session, many interested young men
and women are not selected to participate in Summer Seminar. Students who
are not selected for the summer program are strongly encouraged to continue
the USNA application process.
The tuition to attend a session is $350, which pays for your room and
board, as well as a variety of materials. Some scholarships are available basedome scholarships are available basedon financial needon financial need. Plan on bringing extra cash for snacks and souvenirs.
Each student is responsible for arranging transportation to and from the Naval
Academy. Those flying commercial air should make arrangements to arrive at
Baltimore-Washington International airport (BWI) between 9am and 3:30pm on
Day 1 of the seminar. Departure flights should be scheduled to depart BWI no
earlier than 3:00pm on the last day of the seminar. Buses and midshipman
escorts will be on hand to get you to and from the Academy and BWI.

The United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar offers the opportunity
for rising high school seniors to visit the Naval Academy for one week
during the summer. Students will experience all aspects of the Naval
Academy including the academic program and midshipman life.
Furthermore, students will receive an overview of Navy and Marine Corps
service options. If you think that you are interested in pursuing an
appointment to one of the nations service academies and serving your
country as an officer, you should seriously consider attending the Naval
Academys Summer Seminar.

During the six-day session, you will
become a part of the Academy. You
will live in Bancroft Hall (the dormitory
all Academy midshipmen live in), eat in
the dining hall, participate in
academic and leadership workshops
and experience a variety of other
activities on the campus. You will have
an opportunity to see firsthand what
the Academy has to offer through its
exceptional academic, athletic,
extracurricular activities and
leadership training programs.

The Naval Academy Summer Seminar Program is offered exclusively to
young men and women who have just completed their junior year of high
school. The following general selection criteria are considered:
United States citizen
Unmarried, not pregnant and
have no legal obligation to
support a child, child ren, or
other individual(s)
Academic performance
(grades, class rank, etc.)
Demonstrated achievement inathletics and extracurricular activities,
especially demonstrating leadership
potential in these areas
Physically fit and in good health
Positive attitude, be self-disciplined,
and be of good moral character
