Strategicplansdocumenttheobjectivesthatanorganizationwantstoachieveoveraspecifiedperiodoftimeinresponseto
itschangingenvironment. ForIT,thestrategicplanispartoftheresurgenceoftheITDivisionposttheDeloittestudy,
completedinearly2016. OverthepasttwoyearstherehasbeensignificantimprovementintheITDivision’sinnovation,
deliveryofcustomerservice,projectmanagement,andtheoverallcontribution totheCollege’smissionandgoals. The
turnaround isthedirectresultofITteamworkandthedeterminationbyeverymemberoftheDivisiontomeetingIT’s
strategicandoperationalgoals.Additionally,theDivisionhasreceivedunwaveringsupport fortheturnaroundactionsfrom
thePresident,Cabinet,andtheFITcommunity.
Facultyandstudentsareaccustomedtotherapidpaceofdigitalserviceimprovementscomingfromprivateindustry. These
constituentsthennaturallyexpectasimilarpaceofimprovementsfromFITintheformofequipmentandservicesthat
remaincurrent,accessible,anddigitalifatallpossible. ThismeansthattheCollegerequiresatechnologyarchitecturethat
permitstheassimilationofnewertechnologies,leveragesCloudbasedservices,isappropriatelymaintained,improves
accesstoinformation,supports thedigitizingofworkflows,andprotectsthedataentrustedtotheCollege.
