Community Health
• Gain community health experiencein a developing country
• Community Health Clinics providingbasic first aid and health education
• Rural health care with local staff• Observe and assist local staff• 10 students + 1 supervisor
Placement
• 5 days work per week• Weekend free time and activities• Rotation between assisting clinic
staff, running health educationclasses and home visits
• Based on skills, experience andinterest
• Active placement- work with ICA
Things to remember…
• Working alongside local staff• Cultural sensitivity and respect• Cambodia is not Australia!• Frustrations of developing world• Can’t ‘save the world’• Active placement- speak up!• Must be patient and flexible
Cost
• $4550 per personbased on 10travelling
