The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ June 3, 2018
PRECIOUS BLOOD On this solemnity we focus our attention on the Body
and Blood of Christ. We listen to the story of the renewal
of the old covenant, which Moses sealed by splashing the
blood of animals on the altar of sacrifice, as well as on the
people. Jesus, whose blood is the blood of the new cove-
nant, shed that precious blood on the cross, saving us from
sin and promising us everlasting life. Blood is the life
source that courses through our bodies. The precious blood
of Christ is the life source for our spirits. Today may we,
like the psalmist, offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the
Lord, whose Body and Blood strengthen us to bring the
Good News to everyone we meet. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

PRAYER CHAIN REQUESTS We want to remind people to feel
free to use the parish prayer lines
when needs arise in your
family in difficult times of testing
and trial. Email [email protected] or call
Rita Burges at 364-6766. Contacts are listed on the
back of the weekly church bulletin. You must first
have the permission of the patient or of a close fam-
ily member who can speak for that person in need;
you may use either their full name OR no name at
all. It is also hoped that if the prayer line is being
used anonymously, the caller inform our Pastor Fa-
ther Tony so he can come to anoint or administer
the Sacrament of Healing when needed and to
know who among the flock to keep in his daily
prayer. Thank you and May God Bless you!

“We will do everything that the Lord has told us.” Everything is such a big word 10 whole letters, and it en-
compasses all. The entire creation is included in the word everything. And the people Israel promise to do all that
the Lord has given them in the Law, and they are in reality unable to accomplish it. They are unable to care for the
widow and the orphan and the stranger in their midst. They choose not to have fair measuring weights. They do not
keep holy the Sabbath. And the truth of the matter is their sins are continued today in our own. We are just as ready
and willing to promise everything and deliver as little as possible on the promise. But thankfully our limitations are
not the limits of Jesus Christ. He gave everything to the shedding of His last drop of Blood for our sake. Brothers
and sisters let us do all we can to follow in His footsteps knowing that when we fail His everything offers forgive-
ness and reconciliation.
From the desk of our pastor, Father Tony Neusch.
The Summer months are upon us. That
means time for fun in the sun, water,
and fields. Please remember that what
may be appropriate for the pool, or
baseball diamond, or soccer field is probably not
appropriate for Mass. Please prayerfully consider
how we present ourselves for liturgy. If you
wouldn't wear it to work, or on an interview, or on a
first date, or any of those moments of life that we
try to put our best foot forward, then we probably
shouldn't wear it to Mass. In the Eucharistic Feast
we encounter Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and
our apparel should reflect this. Please be prayerfully
mindful of how we dress as we weekly celebrate the
Eucharist.

Thought for Reflection: “It’s the start that stops most people.”
