IntroductionThe project work is A study on Work Life Balance among employees with reference to V- Guard Industries Limited Cochin. V-Guard Industries Limited is a household electronicproduct. On Feb 12,1996,the company was incorporated under the name of V- Guard Industries Limited under the company act 1956. It has a network sixteen branches including head located in cochin , 105 distributers ,75 service centers,7000 retailers and spread 29 states across the country V- Guard with array of products for the home , has a consumer base exceeding 40millon . products marketed under the brand name V - Guard are Voltage Stabilizers, Electrical Wires, Pumps and Motors, water heaters , Solar water heaters ,Fans,UPS ,Digital UPS, Inverter,Battery,Mixer grinder,Induction cooker and Generation power through Wind mills. As defined by Manfred Work -Life Balance is a persons control over the conditions in their work place. It is accomplished when an individual feels dually satisfied about their person life and their paid occupation. It mutually benefits the individual, business and society when a persons personal life is balanced with his /her own job. A variety conditions such as physical stress, lack of concentration in work, lack of opportunity for growth, absenteeism, financial problems, over work,hectic and routine tasks exists in company that can lead to an imbalance between family life and work life. Through this study we can try to get some awareness about the factors affecting the employee work life balance and the approaches to improve the employee work life balance, role of work life balance in the personal life and in the organization. The major indicators of employee work life balance are job involvement, job satisfaction, and productivity. In V Guard, work load, feel stress while working, lack of concentration in work, travel problem andCompensation received is major reasons that can lead to an imbalance between work life and personal life. The concept of work life balance is based on the notion that paid work and personal life should be seen less as competing priorities than as complimentary elements of a full life. It is important for employers to support work- life balance to comply with legal requirements that affords working parents right to request to work flexibly, to promote equality of opportunities by ensuring that staffs with caring responsibilities are not disadvantaged in the

workplace and to widen access to paid work and career opportunities. Work life balance has been widely discussed since the launch of a major government campaign in 2000.

Significance of the studyFor employee: Employees can effectively manage multiple responsibilities at home work and in the community without guilt or regret. Employees are able to work in flexible ways so that earning and income and managing family or other commitments become easier. They are being part of a supportive work place that values and trust staff.For the firm: Getting and keeping the right staff. Getting the best from staff. Being an employer of choice and future proofing. Improving productivity.

Objectives of studies Objective of this study is to measure about the level of satisfaction, involvement, motivation and commitments of individuals, find out working relationship between employees. To find out the factors affecting employee work- life balance. To understand how work- life balance impact on employee morale and productivity. To understand the link between employee satisfaction and work life balance

Statement of problemThe study is intended to know the effectiveness of work- life balance of employees in V Guard Industries Limited. So many internal programs are provided to the employees in order to remove the employee stress for balancing their personal life and work.

Research Design A research design is the arrangement of condition for collection analysis of data in a manner that aims to combines relevance to research purpose with economy in procedure. The research design is the determination and statement of general research approach or strategy adopted for particular product.

Collection of data The study is mainly devised primary method for research purpose; especially interview method and schedule method are used for getting an idea about employee satisfaction. The data collected by primary method during the course of doing experiments in an experimental research the primary data obtained either through observation or through communication with respondents in one form or another through personal.Sources of data: Datas are mainly collected in two types :- A. Primary data B. Secondary dataPrimary data Primary datas are those which are collected for the first time happen to be original character. Primary data collected through questionnaire cum schedule.

Secondary data Secondary datas were collected from various books, annual reports, companys documents and from companys website.

Scope of the studyThe study is confined to gain some knowledge about the Work Life Balance of employees in V Guard Industries Limited, Vennala.Through this the study we get some awareness about factors affecting the employees work - life balance and the approaches to improve the employee work life.

Limitation of the studyThe main constrains or limitations of the study are as follows: Limited time for the study. Authorities of all departments had a busy schedule and hence there was no scope for detailed interaction with them. Researcher cannot meet all the members in personal.
