OVERVIEW
Background:
Social Innovation Festival (10 Day Fest) is the annual signature programme presented by the Jockey
Club Design Institute for Social Innovation (J.C.DISI), with principal support from the Hong Kong
Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The first edition of 10 Day Fest
was held in 2013, from September 27 to October 6.
Objective:
1. To invite local and international civic leaders, intellectuals, activists, and changemakers to
exchange ideas and insights under the theme of “social innovation.”
2. To engage the university community, various knowledge institutes, faculties, departments, and
centres interested in social innovation.
3. To showcase the expertise and competence of designer, and the roles it plays to nurture social
value in the next generation of designers.
4. To gather public support for social innovation and to advocate design as a form of social capital
and generative capacity.
5. To anchor J.C.DISI identity through the curatorship and presentation of quality exhibition and
events, including the archival and sharing of best cases, practices, and works relating to social
innovation.
Goal:
10 Day Fest aims to become the most popular and inspiring series of events, centering on the theme
“design and society”, for both professionals and the community at large.
