South Campus HallSouth Campus Hall is the southern gateway to campus. It’s where you’ll buy your Waterloo gear: from textbooks and hoodies, to stationery and adult colouring books. It’s also home to the Student Success Office, who will support you in reaching your academic and personal goals. Upstairs you can enjoy lunch and work on developing your ideas in one of our maker spaces.
This building is 100% dedicated to helping you launch your career. The Centre for Career Action can assist you in preparing for exams like the MCAT or LSAT, refine your resume, develop interview skills, and more. Our co-op program has the largest network of global employers – 6,700. There’s no better place to explore the workforce or build your resume.
Dana Porter LibraryThe Dana Porter Library is the largest of 7 libraries on campus. It’s one of the best places to get the tools and support you’ll need when you’re conducting research for your studies. There are also bookable study rooms, the Writing Centre, printing and scanning services, and so much more.
Waterloo wants to help you get the hands-on experience employers and graduate schools value. EIT is designed for that purpose. It’s got a life-size mining tunnel, a scaled replica of the Great Lakes, dinosaur fossils, and more! From anatomy and language labs to a student design centre and a planning studio, there’s plenty of spaces on campus to help you master new skills.
One of Waterloo’s most famous inventors, Mike Lazaridis (the co-founder of the world's first smartphone), made this building possible. Waterloo encourages entrepreneurship and has a unique Intellectual Property (IP) policy – the creator owns their idea. It’s one of the reason’s Waterloo has launched more high-tech startup companies than any other school in Canada.
Student Life CentreThere’s always something happening in the Student Life Centre. It’s like the “living room” of campus and is open 24/7. Inside you’ll find a food court, a Tim Hortons, a silent study area, a prayer room, a music room, a computer store, a bank, our on-campus pub, our student government, the offices of our 200+ student clubs, and more.
Physical Activities ComplexThis is the home of our 32 varsity teams, the Warriors, and Warrior Recreation, one of the largest campus recreation programs in the country! The facilities include studios, squash courts, weight rooms, a bouldering wall, a golf simulator, and a swimming pool. The Columbia Ice Fields, our second athletic facility, offers an ice rink, multi-use fields, and additional weight and cardio machines.
Village 1Village 1 is the largest of our 10 on-campus residences. All first-year students are guaranteed a spot in residence. From Dons and tutors in residence, to unlimited internet, laundry facilities and movie nights, living in residence is a great way to help you ease into university life.
Bridge to University CollegesWaterloo has 4 University Colleges: St. Paul’s, St. Jerome’s, Renison, and Conrad Grebel. They're smaller communities within the wider Waterloo campus. You can take courses or even live there while still having access to all the resources offered on campus. If you enroll at one, you’ll earn a Waterloo degree.
Environment 3This is one of Canada’s greenest buildings and it’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) platinum certified, a perfect example of Waterloo’s commitment to the environment. Its features include a living wall, green roof, solar panels, and more.
