These were the original needs stated in the RFP – we should probably script comments to address each one as we go through the presentation:
2. Distance education being our primary form of reaching our faculty and staff, the design and development of Web-based Training (WBT) will be considered with the following items in mind:Readability;Navigation that takes into consideration our diversity; perhaps using icons to ease use; andFormat and layout that is easily maintained.3. The content for the WBT should:Be based on solid adult learning theories;Include video-based scenarios of best practices;Animations and job aids aimed at reinforcing best practices shown on videos; andIncentives for continued use (items such as positive feedback and letting the user know when a task is complete).4. Two WBT courses: (1) technology integration in the classroom (TIC) and (2) technology in distance education (TIDE). Both courses should:Have well defined goals and objectives;Target the intended audience;Have formative and cumulative assessments; andHave help menus that are easily accessible and readable.
