State GoalsThe Oregon Department of Education is working in partnership with school districts and local communities to ensure a 90% on-time, four year graduation rate by 2025. To progress toward this goal, the state will prioritize efforts to improve attendance, invest in implementing culturally responsive practices, and promote continuous improvement to close opportunity and achievement gaps for historically and currently underserved students.

School GoalsSchool Community and Culture, Student and Adult Wellness, and Curriculum are our goals for this year. Focus is on the importance of positive relationships, positive habits, growth mindset. We continue to improve and develop our use of Zones of Regulation and Sensory Zones. We are deepening our culturally responsive practices and lean on the Teaching Tolerance resources. This year we implement our Health and PE adoptions and maintain our Wellness Committee to maintain forward progress on these key initiatives. Our curriculum goals are broad, yet highlight a specific focus on deepening our practices for Talented and Gifted Education.
Safe & Welcoming EnvironmentThe RGS Safety Committee has been actively planning for increased security measures to keep students safe during the school day. This year we began using a buzz-in entry system at the front door of each school. All back and side entrances to the schools will remain locked during the school day. We continue to use a multi-agency threat assessment team, lock down and lock out drills, safety tip lines, staff training , and our community resource officers. Staff engaging in Trauma Informed Care professional development.
