Support and
Education forPeople in the
Early Stages ofAlzheimers
disease
We offer a support group for peoplenewly diagnosed and in the early stages ofAlzheimer's disease twice a month.
Our group has 12 members with
Alzheimer's disease and is growing.
Our group is one of only two early stagesupport groups in South Carolina.
Give me tools for livingwith this disease. Pleasedont give me mydiagnosis and then leaveme alone to confront it. Ineed to know what willhappen to me, and I needto know not only aboutmedical treatmentoptions but also what
support is availablethrough resources in mycommunity. Work withme on a plan for healthyliving. Medication mayhelp modify some of myneurological symptoms, but I am also interestedin other
recommendations forkeeping myself ashealthy as possiblethrough diet, exerciseand social engagement.Quote from Requestfrom People withAlzheimer's disease

Maintaining
Each year we provide over 16,000 hours of respite care forcaregivers of people with Alzheimers disease.
During one month, volunteers provide over 500 hours of care,
companionship and support.
We provide tools and education for people with Alzheimers diseaseto remain independent in their community.
Caregivers are given time to take care of themselves.
To simply sustain our program,
we must raise $80,000-$90,000 each year to provide the programsand services of Respite Care Ministries.
Your support will help us sustain our program.
