POWERSCREEN
A GUIDE TO DUAL POWER
CHOOSE THE FUEL TO SUIT YOU… DIESEL OR ELECTRIC?
DUAL POWER
Powerscreen® Dual Power option gives you an
alternative energy source, letting you choose
which fuel to use, depending upon cost,
location and availability.
This option will be of special interest if you
operate in an area where electricity is more
cost effective than diesel fuel and on sites
where electricity is the preferred energy source.
Powerscreen® Dual Power machines are fitted with
an additional electric/hydraulic drive system which
can be connected into an external electricity supply
once the machine has been setup onsite.
It has been an option across the screening range –
these are marked in the options list on the brochure
pages.
EASY TO OPERATE
Once positioned on-site and connected to an
external electricity source the unit can be switched
to operate on electricity. The track screens retain
all the benefits of a mobile machine.
Powerscreen® Chieftain
2100X – with dual power Powerscreen® Chieftain
1400 – with dual power
The Powerscreen® Dual Power machines can
operate on diesel fuel oil or an external electricity
source; reducing diesel fuel oil consumption,
operating costs and, depending on set-up, may
increase machine uptime due to reduced refuelling
and engine servicing.
REDUCED OPERATING COSTS
APPLICATIONS
• In any quarry, mining, sand-pit, coal, washing and
aggregate processing application where a screen is
used
• Electricity only is permitted
• Electricity is freely available or generated on site
• Complete crushing spreads are run using
a stationary genset
• Electricity is preferred over diesel fuel
• Electricity is cheaper than diesel fuel
• Diesel fumes are not permitted, e.g. underground.
• Where environmental, legislative and/or noise
constraints are present.
• In the event of an electricity shortage, the
Powerscreen® dual power screens can continue to
run on diesel fuel oil, or vice versa.
APPLICATIONS
EXAMPLE - POWERSCREEN CHIEFTAIN
2100X BIOMASS
The Chieftain 2100X screen has been
configured specifically for compost, woodchip
and biomass type applications.
Dual Power offers users a choice between
diesel and electric power. The complete
machine can therefore be driven electrically
from generator power or an on-site electricity
supply which is often a requirement in wood
processing facilities.
