Hello,mynameisGail,I’mwhatyouwouldcallareluctantvolunteer.Whatexactlyisthat,youask?Letmeexplain.Timeisanon-renewableresourceandnoneofusknowhowmuchwe’vebeenassigned.Therefore,allmylifeI’vebeenselfishwithmytime.ThatisnotGod’sdesignforyouorme.Godhasplacedushereinthisgenerationtoserve.Indoingso,wegrowtobehumble,kind,generousandmorelovingtothosearoundus.
Godhasasenseofhumor.Ididnotgrowupasachildcaringforanimals.Ifoundthemdirtyandsmellyandchosenottobearoundthem.Godusedhiscreaturestohumblemetoshowmehisgrace,mercyandrighteousness.Ihaveseenananimalthatwastiedtoatreestarving.Ithadeveryrighttohatehumans,yetitreachedoutandlickedmyhand.I’veseenthelookonanadoptersfacewhentheyfoundthatbabythatcompletestheirfamily.
Ihopeyou’llconsidervolunteeringattheBrookhavenAnimalRescueLeague.But,ifnothere,findyourcalling.Howwillyouserveyourgeneration?Inserving,you’llbecomemorelikeoursaviorJesusChrist.
